You drape beauty under your protective arm,
Shielding it from all pain
And hiding it from harm,
So its perfection will forever remain.
You shine in the eyes of a child,
Who is wrapped in your embrace.
You sparkle in everyone who has smiled,
While you painted every face.
Carrying a warmth so rare,
You grow through the cracks of sorrow,
Blooming in secret everywhere
With the promise of a better tomorrow.
Oh, Innocence, why must we ever say goodbye?
I wish you would stay,
Whispering love with every sigh...
