These are just some poems I had to write for my Creative Writing class. Some of them aren't very good and others are down right lazy because I don't feel I can write as freely knowing I'm going to be graded.

Haiku:
The ocean's sharp waves
Form jagged crystal daggers,
Reaching out for me.

Cinquain:
Rainbows
Out of my head, to commotion,
Forming colorful ocean....
Out of all my emotion
It flows.

Acrostic:

I'm trying to figure out what's inside,
Deciphering the enigma of "me."
Endless searching hasn't helped me decide...
Nothing has helped to solve this mystery.
Time will change and erase the times I've tried
Interesting ways to change what I'll be.
Through all these trials and times I have cried,
You've never come found me, Identity.

Limerick:

There once was a knight far away,
Who was ready to save the day,
'Til the dragon came,
Breathing breaths of flame...
That beast, the fair knight could not slay.

Ballad:

I once had a true love
Who lived across the sea,
Fighting the creatures who came from above.
He was as courageous as could be.

Then, one day, a fierce beast came:
A winged monster breathing fire.
I told him to run from the dragon's flame
Because vanity is a deadly liar.

Still my fair love was determined to fight,
And he was so sure he could win,
So he set out on that dreadful night
To let my nightmare begin.

By morning, my knight was dead,
But he still has my heart.
His voice echos in my head,
And the grief may tear me apart.

I plan to get my revenge soon,
Facing that dragon on my own.
If I lose, we'll lie together under the moon,
And my love will no longer be alone.

Carpe Diem:

For just this moment,
We are free.
Right now,
There is so much we could be.

For just this moment,
Let's be wild,
Take back the wonder you held
When you were just a child.

For just this moment,
Let's forget all our pain.
I want to let go
And just be insane.

Just for this moment,
We can start something new.
Let's change our lives
With the revolutionary things we do.

Couplet:

There was a man who longed to be free,
And so he learned to sail the sea.

Quatrain:

I watched the girl who wished on flowers,
Praying she could have magic powers.
Now, wherever she is, flowers bloom,
And she can expel any gloom.

Diamante:

So before you read this, you should know what I was aiming for because I'm not sure how it comes across. I mean to say life is hard but worth fighting for, while death seems like an easy answer but is actually the wrong choice.

Life,
Hard, War,
Breathing, Trying, Fighting,
Infinite, Immeasurable, Mysterious, Dreadful,
Tantalizing, Lying, Ending,
Quick, "Easy,"
Death
