Everybody warned me
What I already knew,
But I just refused to see
And depended too much on you.
So it only makes sense
That you too would have to go.
I've lost another line of defense,
And I wish it weren't so.
Now everything hurts so much;
I don't work well on my own.
I whittled you into a crutch,
But now I've been left all alone.
I guess that was always the danger
Of letting my heart lie...
In the end, you're just a stranger,
And now I must say goodbye.
