You used to run-
Run just to feel free
Or because you already were,
Instead of running to escape,
Trying to run outside of yourself
Do you remember when
You used to scream-
Scream with delight
Or the sheer pleasure of noise,
Instead of holding in pain
When all you want is to scream
Do you remember when
You used to sing-
Sing with open joy,
Wanting to share with the world,
Instead of singing out pain,
Hoping someone will hear your cry
Do you remember when
You used to smile-
Smile on complete accident,
Caught unaware by your innocence,
Instead of forcing yourself to look ok,
Hiding how you really feel
Do you remember when
You used to dream-
Dream of the future
With starry eyes and a carefree heart,
Instead of giving up,
Letting go of hope
Do you remember
You can still run to feel free,
Scream just for fun,
Sing with pure joy,
Smile just to smile,
And dream out of hope
You can still be innocent.
