Elizabeth ended up falling asleep at Christian's place again, but this time she snuck out after a nightmare woke her up around 3. She noticed that Ivy had started to stir, so she checked in on the babe and changed her diaper so that Christian wouldn't wake up.

"Be good for daddy, princess," Elizabeth kissed her cheek and laid her down, making sure that she left a note for Christian.

I headed out early. Remember to eat, please. - Elizabeth

Christian. Christian Yelich... The man she befriended on a cold November morning was a two-time National League MVP. The man who she had been close to for two and a half months hid part of his identity from her.

That hurt like hell.

But then she remembered that she also kept her profession from him.

This all was complicated as hell, and it made her head spin. She felt like she needed to tell Christian about her position as an OBGYN, but she also felt like it would only hurt him. She didn't want to do that.

Elizabeth smiled fondly when she thought about how excited Christian was when he told her that the Shaws were expecting. It was hard for her to keep it in that she knew it was a boy, too. Especially since Travis and Lindy said they'd be doing the gender reveal at a later date.

The hurt from the revelation was starting to subside and Elizabeth knew that it wasn't a big deal.

Christian was her friend. Who had an abnormal job, that he was very good at. That's it.

Normally, Spring Training marked the beginning of Christian's favorite season - baseball season.

This year, though, things were different. There was no Sloane.

Sometimes, he went whole days without thinking about how much pain he was in. He went days without remembering the crushing defeat of losing the love of his life.

Today wasn't one of those days. Today was his first Spring Training game and all he could think about was how his wife should be in the stands, holding their three-month-old.

The spot where Sloane would sit was empty. The WAGs decided that it would be all season, to memorialize their fallen friend.

Christian didn't tell them that looking up and seeing that seat empty felt like a kick to the ribs. They needed to heal, too, and if this is how they did it, he'd be an ass to tell them to stop.

So each ST game, he looked in the stands, saw the empty seat, and swallowed his sadness.

Him and Elizabeth FaceTimed every night, and it honestly helped him with the crippling pain of doing this alone.

Except, now Ivy missed her. His sweet baby girl would whine every time he hung up. Sometimes, she would even start crying.

Ivy missed Elizabeth, and Christian would be lying if he said he didn't. That brought up a thought, and he didn't even have time to think about it when his phone rang.

"Hi there, stranger," Christian smiled, Ivy jumping up and down on his lap when she saw Elizabeth's smiling face.

"Hi. I'm sorry this is so late! I had a case that went longer than anticipated. I called you as soon as I got home," she smiled, eating a bowl of pasta. "I saw that you hit a home run today."

"I did," Christian blushed, helping Ivy bounce. "How was work? Other than long."

"Very good! I'm happy to be home, though. Why is Miss Thing awake?" she frowned. Christian was strict about Ivy's bed time, and it was nearing midnight in Milwaukee, meaning it was almost 11 in Arizona.

"She was sleeping, but then she woke up to eat and wouldn't go back down. She definitely misses you," Christian smiled.

"Oh I miss her too, so very much. I wish I could be there to snuggle that squishy face."

"I can fly you down next week... It's our last weekend. It would be nice to see you. Ivy really does miss you..."

"Chris... I would love to... but I have this really important conference that I have to prep for and I haven't even started. I'm sorry," she frowned, seeing the fall of his face. "But I will be at the airport when you land!"

"You're gonna knock their socks off. You're brilliant, Ellie. The smartest woman I know. Good luck," like the good friend he was, Christian wasn't upset. He was genuinely happy and proud of Elizabeth. "I'll see you March 29th."

"I'll see you then. I can't wait to squish that lil munchkin. Sleep well, Christian," she smiled as he hung up.

Christian kissed down the creamy skin of the woman in his bed, running his hands up her sides.

"You're so beautiful," he whispered, sucking on the nipples of said woman. And she was... Damn it had been a long time.

"Are you ready?" he whispered, two fingers positioned at her wet core, gently thrusting in. The gentle moans of the woman in his bed causing his dick to become rock hard and stand at attention.

"So sexy, baby. I love when you make those noises," he smiled and sucked at her clit. She was sweet with a bit of tang. Delicious, to him.

"Oh Christian... Please. Please. I want you," the woman moaned after he had been fingering her for a while.

God was he ready... Before she had time to beg again, he was inside her, thrusting passionately.

"You're so beautiful. God. You feel so good," he whispered in her ear, thrusting with an accelerated pace for a few minutes when he felt her cum. The contractions of her walls pushed him over the edge and he came inside her.

After they both caught their breaths, he climbed up to give the woman a kiss.

"That was amazing, Christian."

That voice it sounded like... it was...

Elizabeth.

Christian gasped as he woke up, sitting straight up in bed.

What the fuck was that?
