Elizabeth hadn't stayed in her apartment in a week. And she was so unbelievably happy with that. In fact, the only reason she went to it today was to grab a couple tampons. Her period was supposed to start yesterday, but she had slight cramping that would suggest that today would be the day, instead.
She grabbed the couple of things she needed and a handful of condoms, since Christian had run out the night before. It was her turn to buy.
God they had so much sex. Ever since Elizabeth told him that she loved him, it was like she was showered with love constantly. Both physically and emotionally. And she had an hour before work that she planned to use on love.

"I missed you," Christian smiled and kissed her against his door, already slipping her shorts off.
"I was gone five minutes," she laughed and dragged him to their - his - room.
"Too many minutes," he whispered and went to work, kissing down her chest and rolling the condom on and thrusting deep and hard into her.
"My beautiful love," he whispered and kissed her deeply, holding her hands and thrusting wildly and loving every inch of her body.
"Fuck, Christian. I love you. I love you so much," she gasped, arching down to meet his thrusts. "Oh god," she cried out and gently bit his bottom lip, her nails gently scratching his back.
"I love you," Christian smiled and reached down to rub at her clit, feeling close to the edge.
As Elizabeth's walls clenched against him, Christian was overwhelmed with joy, coming into the condom and pulling out.
"I love this. I love getting to do this with you," he smiled when he came back with the washcloth, wiping her down and giving her a gentle kiss on her clit that caused her hips to thrust away.
"I love it, too. You're so good," she laughed, cuddling into him for a while. "I'll see you tonight. I'll bring tacos," she smiled and kissed him softly, getting up and changing.
"I can't wait," Christian sighed, the happiest he'd been in almost 9 months.

Her period still hadn't come. Not even the spotting she'd usually get the day before. Elizabeth was thinking back to the last time she had unprotected sex. Her and Christian always used condoms.
Shit. Except for the first night. That first night when the emotions were so raw and confusing.
The next day was spent moping, instead of buying Plan B like she should've. Like she had planned.
Fuck. She didn't want kids right now. She couldn't. She was a year away from being an attending. A year away from finally practicing on her own.
Elizabeth's hands were shaking, and she was about to go grab a pregnancy test when she got a page.
Lindy Shaw just came in. 5cm. I'm out of town, so you're on your own. You've got this, Dr. Reed.
Elizabeth checked the chart and went in, plastering on the closest thing to a smile she could.
"Well it looks like today's the day! You're lucky to have gone into labor before Travis had to travel. How's your pain, Lindy?" She smiled, holding her iPad close to her chest.
"I'd say a 6. I think I'm going to want an epidural soon," she whispered, brow furrowed in pain.
"I'll call for it now. Sit back and relax. I'll check you once you're numb," she smiled after monitoring both Lindy and the baby's vitals.
Three hours. Lindy was at a 9 and Elizabeth had to pee desperately before she started pushing, so she grabbed a test and went.
Three minutes. Flip.
Two lines.
Damnit.
She was too distracted to think more of it. Delivering a safe and healthy baby had to be her priority. Her work brain had to take over her heart.

"He's beautiful, you guys," Elizabeth smiled and handed Jonah over to Travis, who was beaming. Lindy barely tore and there was no excess bleeding, so Elizabeth stitched her up.
"Thank you, Elizabeth. Really," Travis smiled and kissed Lindy and their beautiful boy.
"Of course. I'm gonna hang around for another hour then head home. Do you want me to be hush hush with Christian?"
She couldn't let them on to the fact that there was a baby Christian growing inside her. She couldn't let them see that all she could think about was being in this room in 9 months.
"No, please tell him," Lindy said softly. "I think it'll make him happy and he deserves so much happiness."
He did. And Elizabeth was sure that a baby would not bring him happiness right now.
...but she had to tell him. They loved each other, and that meant honesty.

Christian could tell right away that something was off with Elizabeth.
"Baby, are you okay?" He asked softly, kissing her cheek and making sure she was eating.
"Lindy had the baby today," she said softly. Avoid. Avoid.
"Oh god. Are they okay?" Christian was horrified. Elizabeth was off and Lindy just had a baby. Oh god. Sloane died having a baby. That's all that was running through his mind.
"Both of them are perfectly healthy and doing well," she said softly. "His name is Jonah... 8 pounds 9 ounces." Work. She could talk about work.
But her work was babies. And she was carrying Christian's baby.
"Then what's up, Ellie? I can tell something is troubling you," Christian frowned, facing her completely.
God he loved her so, so much. He loved her with everything he had, and Ellie could tell. She couldn't keep this from him.
You don't keep things from people you loved.
"I'm pregnant... with our baby," she whispered, looking at him with wide eyes, tears starting to trickle down her cheeks and off her chin.
She saw the second he processed it. He saw the emotions fly across his face. Love. Pain. Disbelief. Anger. Fear. So much fear.
Which was why she was confused by the sheer anger in his tone.
"You need to get rid of it," he snapped and let go of her hands and walked away. She heard the slam of the door. She heard the click of the lock.
She didn't hear him crying. She was gone by then.
