"Christian, it's game 6 of the World Series and you're up 3-2. I'm coming with," Elizabeth said sternly, pulling her jersey over her long sleeve shirt and wincing at the twinge it caused in her back.
"Elizabeth, you're 38 weeks pregnant. You know our fans get drunk and I don't want you or Reilly getting hurt," Christian saw the wince and went to gently massage her back, knowing that she was ridiculously uncomfortable. He was getting more anxious by the day; their house was more than ready for Reilly's arrival, but he didn't know if he was. He was still scared out of his mind that Elizabeth wouldn't make it through.
"I will sit in my seat next to Lindy and only get up to pee, I promise. I'm okay, Christian. We're going to be okay. It's only 4 or 5 hours... what can happen in that short amount of time?" she said softly, turning to face him. "I love you. You are Superman and I want to see my hero play tonight, okay?" she smiled and kissed him softly.
"Okay... We have a medical team by the clubhouse. You go there if anything feels off and tell them to find me. I don't care if I'm mid-at bat. You and our boy matter so much more to me than baseball," he whispered and held her tightly.
"Promise," she smiled and gently scratched his scalp. "You need to head out. Ivy, Reilly, and I will be there by first pitch, but I want to get a nap in first."
"Good. Get your rest, and take tons of water with you, please."
"I promise," she hummed and sighed as he pulled away reluctantly.
It was only 4 or 5 hours. Nothing would happen.

It was the bottom of the fifth and something was definitely happening. Being close friends with Kaitlin at this point, Elizabeth had been texting her since she had been having contractions... Immediately after Christian left.
They were only 8 minutes apart, so she definitely had time. Christian would be pissed at her later, but right now they were down 4-3, and she knew that she needed to be in the stands.
"Elizabeth. You are in labor. Get your stubborn ass to the medical tent," Lindy sighed as Elizabeth clutched the seat again.
"No. I'm fine. They're irregular, not very intense, and 8 minutes apart. I'll be fine, Lindy. He needs my support right now," Elizabeth said sternly, rubbing her bump and releasing a deep breath and getting up as Christian launched an absolute bomb off of Trevor Bauer to take the Brewers to a 6-4 lead.
"That's your boy!!" Lindy grinned and hugged her tight.
"I'm so proud, Lindy... He makes me so unbelievably proud," Elizabeth grinned and wiped her happy tears as he pointed to her general direction in the stands.

They won. The Brewers just won their second World Series in three years, and this time Elizabeth got to celebrate it with the team.
...kinda. Her contractions were up to five minutes apart and were intense, so she knew that she was going to have to burst Christian's celebration bubble. But she wanted him to accept his World Series MVP trophy.
"Ellie!!" Christian grinned and wrapped her in a tight hug, kissing her deeply. His lips tasted like sweet champagne and he smelled like a mix of sweat, alcohol, and grass. It was making Elizabeth nauseous but she didn't care too much. He was celebrating.
"I'm so proud of you, Chris. I love you so much, Mr. World Series MVP," she whispered and held him tight.
"I love you, too, beautiful. Are you feeling okay? You look pale..." he said softly and pulled back to look at Elizabeth's face. "We're going to the hospital," he said without a second thought, leading her to a chair and going to shower and change quickly.
