Kakizaki Memi [II]

"Shall we do it one more time?" Hirate asked breathlessly as she stare back at her members through the mirror

"No wait, let's take a 5 minutes break" Sugai stopped as she raise up her hand to stop Hirate before she could replay the song

Hearing their captains instruction, the rest of them immediately collapse onto the floor, exhausted at the current practice. They knew that whenever they practice with Hirate, the practice would be very harsh as Hirate is a meticulous person that only wants perfection and it would never end until someone stops her. Hirate is a very patient person that doesn't scold her members but to slowly pin point their problem and fix them for them one at a time. Even though Suzumoto is that one in charge of the practice without Takahiro around but Hirate would usually take charge during practice if she is around and Suzumoto would be more of a side support when Hirate need someone to help her.

During their short break, Hirate continued to practice alone while the other members took their break by lazing on the ground and chat among themselves. Neru walked over to Hirate with a bottle of water and stopped Hirate from practicing.

"Techi, rest for a bit, you are not fully recovered yet" Neru urged

Hirate didn't reply but took the bottle of water from Neru and sat down on the spot.

"Say, isn't today your 1st anniversary with Memi?"Neru asked curiously as Hirate froze

"... Is... It?" Hirate asked as she look up to Neru slowly

Neru immediately slap Hirate on the arm "Oh my gosh Hirate! How could you forget?!0" Neru shouted lightly causing the other members to turn their attention to them "Kumi told me she stayed up last night just to prepare for today!"

"... No wonder she texted me earlier to go to her place tonight" Hirate muttered to herself and look up to the clock on the wall

"Ah Sh*t! I'm Late!" Hirate shouted as she stood up

"Go now!" Neru shouted as she pass Hirate her bag

"What about practice?" Hirate asked in panic

"It's alright, just go" Sugai replied 

Hirate nodded and immediately sprint out the of room as her members shouted good wishes to her. She ran down the building and immediately hail for a cab, she took out her phone from her bag and was shocked at the amount of messages from Memi and a few miss calls from her

'Are you reaching soon Yurina?'

'You are coming right?'

'I'm making dinner for us, see you later'

'You must be busy with practice, i'll wait for you'

'You didn't forget did you?'

It was at that moment a another message arrive

'Sorry Yurina... I ruined the dinner...'

Seeing that message she immediately called Memi

"Memi!" Hirate called out after the call was picked up

"Sorry Yurina..." Memi said softly on the phone

"I should be the one apologizing, i'm on the way, sorry for being late" Hirate immediately answered

"But i've ruined the dinner here..." Memi said disappointedly

"It's alright! Who cares about food anyway, i'll be there soon, wait for me" Hirate said hanged up

Hirate thought of something and got the taxi to stop at the market beside Memi's place to get some things before going up to her house. On the other hand, Memi is already used to Hirate's way of expressing herself so she didn't get offended when Hirate hang up the phone before bidding goodbye and sat dejectedly on the kitchen bench as she stare at the burned piece of steak in the sink.

Memi was calling Hirate on the phone earlier and got distracted as she was cooking causing the steak to get burn. She wanted to save that piece of steak but after tasting it, she knew it's on the road of no return. After hearing what Hirate said on the call, she could only sit there and wait as she sigh occasionally.

About 10 minutes later, she could hear someone knocking on her door. She was shocked when Hirate entered her place with plastic bags of the market nearby in her hands. 

"Yurina?" Memi questioned

"Let's cook!" Hirate said excitedly

"Eh?" 

"Come on, let's cook our dinner!" Hirate said as she remove the things she bought from the plastic bags "I bought pasta! Lets make Cabonara tonight! It's your favorite right?" 

"Yea..." Memi was slightly touched at how Hirate remembered what she liked although how nonchalant she might seem

Hirate was actually feeling bad for forgetting their 1st Anniversary so she decided to make it up for Memi this way although she knew that Memi won't really get mad at her.

During the time they cooked together, Hirate made Memi smile a lot at her small yet meaningful actions to cheer her up and even made Memi put on the apron for her. Hirate was determined to make this night meaningful for Memi even though she might have ruined it for her already.

Memi took her time to admire Hirate as she cook and fell in love all over again for Hirate. Members of Hinatazaka46 and Keyakizaka46 always wonder why did Memi even fall in love with this cold hearted otter but they didn't know Hirate got this side of her than everyone would almost never see before it's only reserve for Memi and that's what made Memi fall in love with her.

Sitting down at the dinning table after cooking, Hirate and Memi was quite pleased at what they are about to eat as they look at it.

"It looks good" Hirate said

"Yea" Memi replied 

"It was made by us, it would always be good isn't it?" Hirate said as she smirk slightly

Memi laughed a little at how smug Hirate looked and nodded

"Memi..." Hirate suddenly called out seriously

"Why?"

"Sorry..." Hirate apologize as she look down to her hands

"What for? It's okay to be late, as long you are here" Memi comforted her

"Actually... I forgot about today... Neru was the one that reminded me" Hirate said and sigh "If she didn't tell me earlier on, i might still be at practice right now..."

Memi smiled and laughed "I expected it Yurina and i should really thank Neru for reminding you" 

What Memi said made Hirate shocked "What do you mean?"

"I expected you to forget about our anniversary that's why i only ask you to come over without any reason to give you a surprise but i did panic when you didn't reply earlier on. It ended up with me getting surprised by you instead" Memi laughed

"..." Hirate was speechless at what Memi said, Memi actually knew her that well but she took her for granted

Seeing how stern and serious Hirate looked, Memi held onto Hirate hand  "Like i said, what's important is you to be here for me. Come on let's eat while it's hot" Memi said and pick up her fork

"I love you Memi" Hirate said causing Memi to frozed and blushed instantly

"I love you too Yurina" Memi said back softly and she both smiled and continued with their meal.
