"Lawrence, Anne, George... Welcome. Thank God you're safe." Bagama't pormal ang pagkababati ko sa kanila, 'di ko pa rin mapigilang ilabas ang excitement at galak nang makita ko na ligtas silang nakarating at naglalakad na palapit sa'kin.
The airport has always been a crowded place and the jammed out waiting area is annoying me big time when I came here but seeing these people, well, maybe it is alright.
Hila-hila ni Lawrence and dalawang malalaking maleta at may nakasukbit pang itim na backpack. He is grinning from ear to ear with his sunglasses on. His foreign and really good features were emphasized—from his structured nose and jaw to his paper white skin.
Anne on the other hand is smiling sweetly, her hand on her husband's arm and another hand to their son. Maganda siya at mas lalong pinadepina pa 'yon ng kan'yang matamis na ngiti. Their son, George looks so much like Lawrence—a little version of the asshole.
"We missed you! How are you, Quinnie?" Halos mabali ang mga buto ko nang yakapin nila ako nang sobrang higpit. Little George held on my legs from his short height which I found really cute. His dimples showed and he is the most adorable thing I have seen today.
"You're breaking me off, people. Are you really going to kill me?" Bakas na bakas pa sa aking boses ang paghihirap sa paghinga sa higpit ng yakap nila. And to think that they are tall and larger compared to me?
Natatawang binitawan nila ako. These two are really creepy. It seems to me that they are always plotting against me!
"No, we won't. We just missed you so bad, I guess..." ani Lawrence habang marahang sinusuklay ang buhok at nakangiti pa rin.
"Wow. Thank you for that killer hug." Sarkastiko akong ngumiti sa kanila na malakas nilang ikinatawa. Their laughs were drowned by the noises around us which I find better. At some point.
"Anyway, let's get going and have a twenty-four hour sleep before we start enjoying our lives. We have a week to screw you woman." Lawrence grinned as he touched Anne's kinda swollen belly.
Yes! She's five months pregnant. Ang tigas nga ng ulo. Sinabi kong hintayin muna nilang lumabas si Baby Georgina bago bumisita rito pero nagpumilit silang pumunta agad. The doctor allowed them to fly here and I was still worried. Even until now!
"I'm excited, baby. George, come with mommy.." Sinenyasan niya ang walang imik na anak na bumalik sa kan'yang tabi. Quinnie? The car?" Her gaze went back to me. Wow. She is always smiling. Tinaasan ko lang ng kilay si Anne.
"I actually brought a bicycle. I thought maybe we'll get—"
"Quinnie! How dare you? You want me to ride in a bicycle? You're a sadist!" Napailing na lang ako nang ngumuso siya at parang maaiyak pa. Anne and her childishness is a record. Is this part of her pregnancy, still?
"Glad you remembered. Come on," I said, reminding her of me being a sadist. Iginiya ko na sila palabas ng airport kung saan naka-park ang sasakyan ko. Walang Raven na umaaligid ngayon dahil nasa isang charity work siya sa Visayas. He's a volunteer.
And yeah, I find it very good. Not that he is doing it because he is a celebrity, but because I know he is really passionate in what he's doing. Parang may naglalarong banda sa aking dibdib kapag naaalala ko ang bagay na 'yon.
"Wait. Where is the suitor? I can't believe he just let you go goofing around—"
"Baby? Can we drop the topic now?" Hinawakan pa ni Anne ang kamay ni Lawrence na mukhang handa nang sumabak sa laban. Little George's forehead furrowed as he gazed at his father.
