Chapter 51: Treasure

"You sure you'll stay here tonight?" Raven asked curiously for the second time around.

Marahan akong tumango bilang tugon at mas nagsumiksik sa kan'ya. My hands reached out to his hair as I let its softness devour my fingers. Kapwa kami nakahiga sa kan'yang kama habang nakaunan ang ulo ko sa dibdib niya at nakasandig naman ang kan'yang ulo sa headboard ng kama.

The air conditioner was in full blast but I can't complain because he knows how I like it in full. But this time is different, I am very cold and the bedsheets did not help. Good thing he is just close.

He caught my fingers and played with them instead. Hinayaan ko siya at tumitig na lang sa kisame ng kan'yang silid.

"How old are you again, honey?" he asked all of a sudden. Lihim akong napairap. Alam na nga niya pero nagtatanong pa rin. Well, he has that habit. Para ngang sirang plaka at naiinis pa naman ako sa gano'n. Good thing I was able to get used to it.

"25. Why?" He chuckled for an unknown reason and I am hella interested. Ano na nama'ng iniisip nito?

"I'm just thinking..." he trailed.

"What?" Itinanday niya ang isang paa sa paa ko at kaunting-kaunti na lang ay makukurot ko na siya dahil mabigat. Personal space was never something familiar to him and I know that!

"You're already in your right age. Maybe we should... start planning our marriage too. As soon as possible." I stiffened with his remark and all I did was listen to my fast heartbeat. Napakagat-labi ako nang mahimasmasan para pigilang maiyak sa nakaliliyong tuwa at sa lungkot na nararamdaman.

Oh, Raven. Baka hindi na tayo umabot do'n...

"P-Pakakasalan mo talaga ako?" nagkandautal-utal kong tanong, almost unable to contain my tears

Nakatutuwa kasi kahit alam kong imposible, Raven's looking forward to spending all of his life with me. And what could be more beautiful than have the same dream with him?

"Why not? That's one, big dream, honey." He sounded so seriously funny. Parang hindi pa siya makapaniwala sa sinabi ko kaya napakadeterminadong sumagot.

Patawad kong hindi kita matutulungang tuparin 'yon, Raven. If only I can. If only I am healthy and not dying, I will not have any second thoughts at all, or even resorting to saying no because I want to be married to you too.

"Kahit saang simbahan, Quin... It doesn't matter as long as you're my bride." Tumagilid ako paharap sa kan'ya at inilapat ang kamay sa kan'yang dibdib. His pajama smells so good that I snuggled even closer. How can I ever forget this?

"Eh paano kung hindi tayo ang para sa isa't isa?" I asked. Natahimik siya at ramdam na ramdam ko ang paninigas ng kan'yang katawan.

"I don't care. Pinagtagpo na tayo, Quin. How many times already. Fate is always giving me an entrance to your world. Fate is giving me roads to reach you. It is my choice to take that path and I will always do so..." Marahan niyang hinagod ang aking noo gamit ang kan'yang hinlalaki.

"I won't let you go, Quin. Do you understand?" He was looking straight in my eyes when he said that, his eyes were unfathomable shades of gray and the darkest of it. I felt weird, my stomach is churning from burning mixed emotions. Like I'm happy and scared at the same time.

I know how serious he is with keeping me. But I will not let him. He can't keep me because... Because I will only destroy him.

"Hindi naman ako aalis..."

Pero mawawala ako.

"Promise?" Para na naman siyang bata nang ipa-pinky promise niya ako. I did so. Saka tumango ako sa kan'ya bago ngumiti. The side of his lips twitched up and he was damn hot.
