Birds Of Tokyo Once Wrote A Song Called 'Plans':
Waiting for the skies to catch up with our moods
Shifting colours, we're too high up
Altitude
We're feasting on the taste of the dew after a storm
The people we knew, the people we were before
We're chasing the sky as sunrise breaks night
We're chewing raindrops like delight
Because here, right now where we are
Is a part of the world turning.
We're sleeping in bundles in the backs of cars
We're watching sunrise and we're watching our hearts
Beat and bloom with all our scars
We're waiting for our moods to catch up with the skies.
We're shifting through wet morning grass for gold rings
Lost last night in the dark
We're laughing through our tears as hangovers sing
This is an ode to the miles we've come, oh how far
We're watching friends fall in love with not just people
But life
We're watching ourselves grow unafraid of the night.
The dark caves that used to scare us how
Become only testimonies of bravery we have found.
Piggy backs in wet grass without shoes
Breathalysers and plastic swords
A laughing pack of fools
And even when I feel alone,
I know the sky will catch up with my mood.
An ode of love, to my horde of fools.
"We made plans to kiss the sun at night. Hopeless dreamers."
