Albums In Need:

(Another silly little tidbit about a long ago time, an old second hand book store in a rainy town and a cd)

Sometimes an album at the wrong time is the best of times

A cd that falls from a stack in a bookshop made of rain

Sometimes a collection of songs from people you don't even know is exactly right

To let you know you're not alone in your gain

Of growing and change, the nerve ending pain

Dreaming Out Loud fell into the lap of a scared, cold lonely girl

And held her tight at night when the dark set in and the world

Got a little too quiet or a little too loud

It followed her to the beach and made its way into her veins

Don't you dare try and convince me music can't change

The way you hold on to the light in the sea storm night

Because that one album that fell at her feet

Was enough to meet

Her scared shitless in the storm and walk her through it

Sometimes all you need, is an album in need

Mercy, Stop and Stare, All Fall Down

Words that wound their way into her soul

Won't Stop, Tyrant, All We Are

Songs that became much more

Than just scores on sheet music and a forgotten cd covered in marker in a shop

Melodies that clenched into my fisted hands and threaded through

My fingers to hold on to

My shaking cold hands, doing at the time what no one else could do

Giving hope.

Hope.

A four letter word found in a bookshop made of rain.

And that was enough to alleviate the pain.

Sometimes an album at the wrong time is the best of times

When an album is needed to find

Hope.
