Humans Waste A Time That Is Not Theirs:
Wasted time once more, burning bridges into dark places
Settling prides in ego scores
Maybe not thinking, not feeling anything much anymore.
A wasted time placed once more in a boy who did not care
I let go of the things that don't belong to me because they don't even belong
To their
Fragile being and unknowing of what is wrong
Unkind people hide behind faces like snow
So white in daylight, so even and clean
But stand too long in the dark of the night and you will suffocate and freeze
The snow will swallow you whole if you let it
So drag your feet out once more
Bid the golden snow not so golden but stained black with tar in the centre
Goodbye because you know
All too well about letting people with fake scars dampen your own
A clean heart such as yours should not be
Suffocated by tainted snow.
Humans waste time that is not theirs because they do not think
They touch and they paw at things until they lose balance and sink
Flakes melting into a mess of your own doing
A puddle becomes a sea that leaks into a river.
I once said it felt like the sea, like warm light and smiling
But I was blinded by my own ideas to see
That the sea is unforgiving and unstable and will crush you at a glance
Slam the softest parts of you into reefs and rocks at chance
The sea is an unforgiving thing and this now I know,
Standing from ashore watching in the distance as the tide pulls back and goes.
A clean break, an easy cut, a quick goodbye.
Pull back like the sea to clear you from the mind.
This was not the start and this was not the end
This was a regret in humans wasting time, snow buried in the sand.
This was a test, to see if my faith still feels
And while I have no respect for the sea any longer,
I have respect for the way I stood before it on my heels.
