Too Close To The Sun And You Burn:
Getting too close, hard to feel skin stay cold
Diving in too deep, harder to breathe with these old
Scars running rampant on a body that has only just learnt control
Being presented with the opportunity to let go of its hold
You get too close to the sun too quickly and you burn up
But then again you get too close at all and your body combusts
I just want to survive the flames for once without going overboard
Without making a mess of this thing I adore
Truth be told I'm terrified of before
I have a past and ghosts to match but I need to feel so badly that
I'm willing to watch them slip past
If I can just hope to not burn up just this once.
And maybe you're the same kind of fucked up
And maybe that's even more terrifying than reassuring luck.
