It was the next morning after what felt like a restless sleep. Every time I closed my eyes last night, Veronica would appear in my head. I couldn't stop thinking about her and that kiss. The way her green eyes were shining at me as she stared and smiled. Her skin looked so tempting and soft to touch. Her hair was messy but that only added to her beauty. I was excited about waking up and being with her to the point that, my energy kept me awake. It didn't help that the bed was small and hard to rest on.
I also kept thinking about other things; about Olivia and professor. My way home. I came up with a theory about the heart attack that happened a few days ago. All the heart aches I've been feeling and the dizziness I've been having, must be related to being here, in a time that isn't mine.
It's destroying my body. Unless I have an unknown medical condition, It's not safe to be here anymore.
No matter how much I love this place and time, no matter how much I'm going to miss everyone here, leaving is the best choice for my health and safety. It would be hard to let this go and to let everyone else go. Let Veronica go. She needs to live a normal life like it was planned for her by time. Not have a lesbian relationship with a lying future-born idiot like me and probably ruin everything in our timeline.
With all these thoughts, I thankfully still managed to sleep a little or else I wouldn't be able to stand right now.
Now, I was helping Veronica put her clothes on which was still a lot for me to learn. All I kept hearing was....Not too tight.... You're doing it wrong!.... It's backwards.... Stop whining; you've seen my ass before.
I grunted as she scolded me for the millionth time now. "Was that so hard?" She asked while I dropped on the chair next to her, watching as she grabbed her book from the table.
"Come on, breakfast will be ready in a few minutes." She said, opening the door but I stopped her before going. Last night, I came up to the conclusion that I need to talk to olivia or professor. I need start thinking about the way home.
"Can I rest for a little while? I'm not feeling so well." I lied to her which felt like a punch on the face. She frowned at me with a hint of concern. That made me feel more guilty.
I pretended to rub my temple in pain to make myself believable. I'm such a moron.
Veronica nodded her head which surprised me but I'm glad she did. She walked out and as soon as the door shut, I stood up and went to my bedroom. We had a door connecting between her room and my room, giving an easier access to enter.
I went inside and was about to lock the door when I couldn't find a key so I shrugged it off. I should get this over quick.
I rushed to my bag and pulled the device out. The blue light turned on and I punched the numbers, waiting for someone to pick up. I glanced at the door and hoped no one would burst in out of nowhere.
Sitting on the bed, Olivia appeared on the screen, seeming worried. I smiled as I missed seeing her face again.
"Hey, where have you been?" Since Olivia is not able to contact me and I being the only one able to contact them, she must have been worried. We haven't talked in a long time and with no doubt, I made them concerned.
"I'm okay so far but also not." I said with hesitation. I know Olivia can see right though me which is why I'm not going to lie to her. "Sorry for not calling." I added and cleared my throat. "But listen I have to ask you something quick, I don't have time."
Olivia nodded her head while I gulped and looked over at the door. Still safe. I tried to ignore my anxiety and push forward. "Is the machine ready?" I asked.
