I rested my head gently on the grass and closed my eyes. I never got to appreciate the outside much or the calmness it brings and how soft the grass feels under me. I didn't mind getting my clothes dirty and I didn't care about anything else. All that matters is this moment. A moment that hardly comes.

I opened my eyes and sighed in relief, admiring the sky. It was the softies blue with white clouds that moved in one same direction. Thankfully the sun was not in my eye sight or else I wouldn't have enjoyed it this much.

Turning my head to the side where I can see the lake. I was tempted to jump in and feel the cold but my body was too exhausted to move.

However, I did hear a familiar voice calling my name and that made me sit up. I groaned already, missing the comfy feeling on my back but looked up to see Ana in front of me.

"Aren't you going to church? It's the princess wedding. Half of the villagers are going." Ana plotted down next to me, extending her legs on the grass and putting one above the other. She leaned back and rested her weight with her hands on the grass.

I shook my head, not wanting to think about it and pulled at the grass. It was her wedding today. The day I dreaded to come. We didn't speak last night nor did we speak today.

I did my duties silently. I helped her dress her usual attire without even looking her in the eyes. We didn't even speak to one another. I made her bed and cleaned her room by that time she left.

She wasn't bothered by me so I wasn't bothered by her. She can ignore me all she wants and I'll do the same.

"Where is James? I though he was with you?" Ana questioned.I could feel her frowning at the side of my face and I shrugged, not looking up from the ground.

Ana paused. She was confused and does not know why I was acting like this. I wasn't interested on opening a conversation. I was too lost in my thoughts for me to initiate one. "Well, I have some news. I was hoping James would be here to hear it but I don't think it can wait." Ana continued, ignoring the state that I'm in.

"It's about my grandfather." She said eagerly. I hummed while I still kept picking on the grass.

Ana sighed with frustration but went on anyways. "I told him about the letter. He was surprised that I knew about it but I didn't back off. I confronted him about not coming to his brother's funeral." She paused while I listened without looking up.

"He told me everything. When Hector's son, James's father passed away in the war, so did my grandfather's son. My uncle." She sighed heavily as if it saddened her to think about him.

"Both of Hector and my grandfather lost sons. They died because my grandfather insisted for them to join the war. It's why Hector blames him for his son's death and did not speak to him in a long time."

She took a moment to breath in. "Hector refused to speak to him for years and each of the brothers drowned in their own sorrows, alone. My grandfather was more angry though. He was pissed at himself, at the decision he made but he is also pissed at the person who initiated the war; the king." I glanced at Ana who smiled softly as I finally looked at her while she was speaking.

"So he wanted revenge. He met a man named John. An evil wicked arrogant man. He gave him money to do something horrible. Really horrible." Ana emphasised and I already know what's she's going to say. I already know.

"But Hector found out. He saw the man enter my grandfather's shop occasionally. So he did his own investigation to find the secret letters, the messages and got furious. He then sent that letter. The one we found and that's when my grandfather felt sorry. He wanted to stop but that man, John, he wanted to continue. He didn't want to stop." Ana paused, her eyes were getting tearful and her lips trembled.
