Charlotte's Time Machine [COMPLETED]

Day of the party pt.1

This is one of the most exciting chapters I ever wrote, so get a snack and enjoy. It's a long one, I had to divide it into two parts ;)

I scrubbed the left side of Felix's neck and dropped my arms after I'm done. I sighed as my arms gave up but thankfully, it's over. Today, I had to clean all the horses that belonged to hector and he had three so I'm glad it's the last one.

''There go Felix. You're all fresh and new.'' I dropped the brush in my hand and dried my hand on the side of my pants. I rubbed the front of his face, frowning as he huffed at me. ''Your breath stink. It's disgusting.'' as if he understood me, he turned and pushed my hand off of him while turning his head away. ''Seriously? come on! I'm joking... kind of.'' I whispered the last part hoping he didn't hear me but still, he wouldn't look at me.

''Hey Charlotte,'' James called out from afar. I turned to my left to see his tiny frame due to the distance, waving me over. ''Get the horse ready. we're going for a ride!'' He clapped his hands in excitement with a massive grin on his face. I dropped my arms over my sides and frowned angrily.

''Are you fucking kidding me? I just cleaned them up!'' I shouted, so that he would hear me but unfortunately, he didn't seem bothered by the aggressive tone I'm using.

''We got a big delivery to make; we're heading towards a banqu....'' He explained but I couldn't hear the last part correctly.

''What?'' I yelled back as I didn't hear him correctly.

''A banquet!'' He cupped his hands around his mouth to make his voice louder even though it barely made a difference but I heard it.

''Why?'' I kept asking questions, hoping I'll find a way to avoid going.

''We need to deliver some vegetables to the royal castle so they can have their feast.'' Please tell me I heard him wrong? for heaven's sake, why do we always find our way back to that stupid castle? It's like everything happens there; first time dressing as a man, getting locked up in the prison's castle, an awkward royal dinner, kissing the princess who threatened me with a knife, fighting with the princess who threatened me with a knife and now, what? Getting stabbed by a knife? I'm excited!

Nothing good has ever happened while I was there so you can understand my irritation. Although, the hopeful side of me kept thinking that maybe things will be different due to the truce Veronica and I made. ''Alright, I'll be there in a minute.'' I yelled before picking up the bucket of water beside me with one hand and the other with the brush. I gave Felix a sad smile. ''I regret the day I built the time machine.'' I whispered to him which he neighed in response.

I shook my head and walked ahead. I whistled so he would follow which he thankfully did. Here's to another adventure where hopefully I don't regret. Who am I kidding, I'll definitely regret.

I watched as the trees seemed to move in the opposite direction of where we're going. It was a sunny day surprisingly, usual it's cloudy and cold but this time, it felt like spring.

I had my head laid on James back, my face resting numbly on him. I could sleep if I wanted but I wasn't tired. James was whistling happily, probably excited to see Alex. I wonder if I'll ever find love like he did.

During dinner couple days ago, you could see them glancing at one another whenever the other wasn't looking. A small smile would appear on their face before looking away. I wonder what's going to happen to them? When Alex is expected to get married, will they last?
