Chapter 35

"Good morning, sleepy head." Yuji greeted me with a big smile. I really did not expect him to come this early so I haven't conditioned myself into waking up at this ungodly hour.

"Who in the right mind would call at two in the morning? You should've at least told me last night." I whined.

"Sorry. I slept way too early kaya nakalimutan ko nang sabihan ka. My bad. But you can sleep naman on the way there. Mahaba-habang biyahe pa naman 'yon."

Right after he said it, my parents entered our house. Hindi rin ako na-inform na ngayon sila uuwi but I'm really used to it.

"Good morning, son." My dad greeted me. He hugged me right after that and proceeded to our kitchen.

"Enzo, I bought another set of novels for you." My mom told me as she approached me. "Is this your boyfriend?" My mom asked with a serious look at Yuji.

"Hello, ma'am. I'm Yuji, Enzo's friend." Siya na ang nagpakilala ng sarili niya.

"I thought that you finally had a boyfriend, Enzo. This is the first guy that you brought in this house after Matt so I thought this meant something else." I can't help but to feel shy at Yuji. Walang preno talaga magsalita si mommy. "Anyway, nice meeting you, Yuji. Have a safe trip."

"Why don't you eat first? It's gonna be a long travel for you, guys." My dad suggested. Niyaya ko si Yuji and he agreed kaya naman nagpunta na kami sa dinner table.

My dad used to prepare breakfast for us when I was still a kid so instead of waking our helpers up, he insisted to cook for us.

"It's been a tiring day for us so we'll leave you now, okay? Have a safe trip." My dad kissed me on my cheek before he left.

"Cool." Yuji whispered to himself after my dad leave but loud enough for me to hear.

"I know, right? Bata pa lang ako, siya naman na talaga naghahanda ng breakfast ko until they became so busy." I explained.

"No. Not that one." I became curious on what was cool that happened because everything else seemed normal.

"Alin ba?"

"They know about your gender identity, right?" He asked.

"Oh. That one. Well, at first, sobrang nahirapan ako to admit. I am their only child. Inisip ko, maybe they will be disappointed if I admit the truth. Most gay stories like mine kasi, their parents disowned them. But I am very lucky because they accepted me kasi bata pa lang naman daw ako, obvious na." I explained. Really, sobrang swerte ko because I never had a hard time proving myself worthy of my parents' acceptance.

"Sobrang swerte mo. But aside from that, swerte din naman sila kasi ikaw ang anak nila." I smiled after he said that.

"What makes you think na swerte sila?"

"Kasi kahit lagi kang iniiwan mag-isa, tinanggap mo. At alam kong balang-araw, you'll make them proud of your craft."
