Witnesses

It's the next day and we're all in the kitchen as the others pack up to travel and find witnesses.

"At least we get to go to London again. Haven't been there in a long time." Esme tells Carlisle as she shuts her bag.

I smile and walk over to the couch placing my packed bag for our trip to see the Denali's.

"Alright lets get this show on the rode." Jacob says as he and Seth walk in with their bags.

Jake was about to say something else till he looked out the house at something. I turn to see Sam and follow the others outside.

"Alice asked me to give you that." Sam says giving the paper to Carlisle.

"She and Jasper crossed our lands to the ocean last night." He added.

"Carlisle." Esme says wanting to know what it's says.

"They've left us." He said.

I walk forward and say "What do you mean they left us?" They would never just bail on us like that there must be a reason.

"Why?" Rose asks sounding just as hurt and confused.

"She didn't say." Carlisle tells us.

"Can I see that?" Bella asks motioning towards the note.

He nodded and handed it to her and I walked over and it said "Gather as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks to the ground. That's when they'll come." I read aloud so the others could hear.

Bella then turned the paper over to see it was a page from what appears a book and see looks to me confused and I share the same expression.

Alices instructions were clear but the question still remained.

Why would she and Jasper leave when we need them the most? What did they know? Our search for witnesses began with a trip to our closest relatives, the Denali's.

I look at the mountains as we drive by the snow falling around and sigh as I look to a now sleeping Renesmee.

I smile and let out a nervous breath as I close my eyes leaning my own head on Seth's shoulder for some comfort.

I then feel him lay his head on top of mine as he rubs circles with his thumb on my hand soothingly.

I open my eyes smelling the new scent of nearby vampires and look to see we are pulling up towards their home.

As the car stops they all walk out of the house to see what we are here for.

Edward opens the door and steps out the car leaving us to talk to them. "Edward is everything all right?" asks Carmen wondering why else we would come here.

"Why didn't you tell us you were coming." She added.

He said nothing and just walked closer to them and stopped as Kate asks "Is it Irina? Have you heard from her?"

" Not directly." Edward tells her.

"Why is your bride and her sister waiting in the car?" Eleazar asks.

"And why have you brought wolves with you? I can smell them from here." Kate adds.

"My family's in danger I need your help." Edward says desperation in his voice.

"What's happened?" Carmen asks concerned.

"It's hard to explain but I need you to keep an open mind. Can you do that?" Edward asks.

"Of course." Tanya tells him.

I knew this meant it was our turn to leave the car and take in a deep breath. Bella turns towards us in the back.
