"This is crazy," he flipped through the magazine as I sat and ate my ice cream.

"What's crazy?" I asked, sticking the spoon in my mouth; moaning at the delicious taste of chocolate chip. "I can't believe you're really dying your hair purple," he chuckled, turning over and looking at me. "It's both of our favorite color," I shrugged, scooping up more but he opened his mouth and I fed it to him.

"Man, I love having you as my best friend," he chuckled and I smiled. "I know right, aren't I the best?" I saved my bowl and climbed in bed as he turned to me.

"I hope we stay best friends forever," he sighed, "I don't know what my life would look like without you, Roxie." "We are," I stopped him, "we will be. I know it," I smiled, "we've been friends since preschool. I'm pretty sure after surviving this hell hole we can pass through college and what not." "I can't wait to leave this town, we can go into the city and find more open minded people." "I know," I sighed, "I wonder what our husbands are going to be like."

"I don't know if I want to get married," he sat up, "I think I want to be a hoe." "Really?" I laughed and he chuckled. "Maybe I do," he shrugged, "and we can adopt three little babies," he paused, "or have dogs. I'm ok with either," he flashed a smile at me and I sat up; copying him.

"I want one kid, just like me." "Why one?" he questioned, "she or he is going to be lonely." "Well, your kids are going to be my kid best friend," I answered, nonchalantly.

"You have the answer to everything," he looked at me and I stared into his eyes. "Of course, I'm ready for that future, Bennie."

*PRESENT*

"You look beautiful, love," my mom snapped a few pictures as we posed.

Mindy and her date, Ciara, were arm in arm; besides Jessica and Ricky. Darian and I were together and ready to go.

"Remember what I said earlier," my mom grabbed her badge and name tag, kissing my cheek and rushing to work.

"Ready?" Darian turned to me and I nodded; kissing him.

I was a bit off since last night; I had a dream about Bennie. It was more of a memory and I had a hard time getting out of bed, but I had to put up a front and pretend I was alright. I smiled up at him and we all walked outside to the waiting limo.

"This is nice!" Mindy exclaimed as she and Ciara awed at the nice ride. Thanks to Darian and Ricky, they chipped in and were able to secure a driver; just in case we decided to drink tonight. I was excited, it had been a while since I was excited for anything.

*FLASHBACK*

"Roxie," Bennie sighed, "you have to wear a dress." "No, I don't have to," I shrugged, turning around in my pant suit. It was fashionable and comfortable, I shrugged and Bennie shrugged. "God, you're difficult. You know it's okay to be feminine sometimes." "I think you do that enough for me," I sassed and he hit me, playfully. "Bitch!" he squealed and my mom walked in.

"You guys look amazing," my mom smiled, "Bennie, love the suit," she complimented him and he smiled. "Thanks, mom," he smirked.

He had began to call her that after the first few years, it felt normal. It was normal.

"Ready?" I asked, grabbing my cell and our tickets and he nodded. "I can drop you guys off." "I don't want you late for work, mom," I shook my head, "besides if we go on the bus now, we can make it there on time." "Ew," he shook his head, "on time is so nerdy. We need to be at least thirty minutes late, we can stop for pizza." "Fine," I groaned, but agreed. I was starved.
