"Please tell you have a bathing suit," Jessica gave me a look as I quickly stuffed random clothes in my bag.
"Hurry guys, we have to get there to sign off for the drinks," Mindy fussed, "my brother won't stay there forever." "Tell him we love him for doing that for us," Jessica quickly added. "He's doing it because he wants your number." "Nah, I'm good," she laughed and Mindy rolled her eyes.
"Don't do my brother, boo. He's cute!" she hit her as we packed the bags.
"Please be careful," my mom eyed us, "I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear alcohol was involved. I trust you and please call me if you have no ride back." "I will, mom," I hugged her and she squeezed me.
"I think he's going to pop the question, soon." "What?" I pulled back, my eyes widened. "Are you sure?" I asked and she nodded, smiling brightly.
"Yes, he's been asking me if I'd want to get married or have anymore children since he doesn't have any. I don't know, I have a feeling it's coming soon." "Well, if it does happen, you better call me if it's tonight. I love you, mom," I kissed her cheek and rushed to the car.
"I am so ready for this," Jessica pinned her hair up, "thankfully the weather is nice and it's hot. I invited all of the hot seniors and my cousins are coming with their college boys. We're definitely going to be having fun." "And why is my brother doing the illegal transaction?" Mindy turned quickly before turning back to the road.
"Maybe he is cute," Jessica shrugged, "I might let him get some. I'm still having fun." "How are you and Ricky?" I asked and she looked at me. "I'm over it. It was fun and he was cute, but I see now that he's not worth the tears. If you want to date him, I'm cool with that as well. We're going to be going off to college soon and I am going to be meeting a lot of new people."
"Speaking of college," Mindy squealed, "I got in." "MIT?" we copied her shrill voice and she nodded, eagerly. "Guys, I'm going to be super rich," she laughed, "I cannot wait." "I'm still waitig to hear back from NYU," Jessica pouted, "I mean my parents and other family members went there, so I'm sure I'll get it. My grades were alright," she shrugged. "I still haven't decided where I'm going."
"You're joking?" Mindy looked at me, "our salutatorian isn't enrolled yet?" she asked and I nodded. "I'm still moving through life. Darian asked me to go to Korea with him." "And you're going?" Jessica smacked me, "please tell me you're joking."
"First off, ouch," I hit her back and Mindy parked, as guys approached us.
"You owe me," Mindy's brother, Miguel looked at her; ruffling her hair. "Stop, stupid," she smacked him and he turned to Jessica as she blushed. "Hey, Jessica," he flirted and she rolled her eyes. "Not ever, Miguel," she pretended not to be interested, "I'm busy."
"Busy with what?" Ricky appeared, helping us unload the trunk.
"Miss thang is moving to Korea with Darian." "What?"
"I am not," I tried to explain. "I mean he's fine as fuck, but seriously. You're too young to be thinking about settling down, I mean was he that good?" Jessica quizzed and I groaned. "Roxie?" Ricky turned to me, "is she serious?"
"No," I raised my hands, "it was an offer. I declined that offer. We're over," I sighed, "guys you act like I'm crazy or something."
"I like how she avoids the sex joke," Mindy tried to whisper to Jessica and I gave her a look. "Stop," I begged, "please. I'm trying to have fun." "Fine, we'll drop it. Let's get drunk and maybe hook up with some hot guys...or girls," she turned to Mindy and she laughed. "I'm down with that," Miguel got closer to Jessica and she grabbed his hands as they ran to the beach; Mindy following.
