A/N: Okay, so 16 chapters away from the end!!!!!! It may sound like a lot, but in comparison, I am over 3/4ths the way done. I feel accomplished. This chapter is rather downing, and sad. However, the next chapter will make up for it with, fight, kisses, romance, and above all Nerd Burn's :) Enjoy!
Song for Chapter; Cyndi Lauper- I want a Mom
Chapter 50-
"So Tyler, Do I know your parents?" My mom asked taking a drink of her wine. I looked at her in concern. I hadn't been the only one to pick up bad habits when my dad died. I spiraled after she began binge drinking.
"Um, Perhaps. He owns Peterson Inc." Tyler said uncomfortably. My mom choked on her wine, I stifled a giggle. She narrowed her eyes at me, and gave me a bright, forced smile. It would take experience to know the difference between when it was forced, and not. My mom was beautiful, her age not affecting it. But if her smile was forced, the slight crinkle of her eye, the twitch of her lip. Or the unmistakable anger that flared in her eyes.
"I apologize, I do not know why Ella, did not introduce us sooner. Its obvious you guys are crazy about each other." My mom said, cutting into the steak in front of her. We were in a quiet restaurant, I had dressed in my normal clothes, knowing if I changed I would rish Tyler seeing me as Annabella, or my mom realizing I was acting strange.
"Well, I could of if you were ever home." I said putting a piece of steak in my mouth, hoping to stop anymore of my attitude bursts. She narrowed her eyes at me. Tyler grabbed the hand I had clenched under the table. The waiter came by and re-filled all the drinks. Tyler cued him over, put cash in his hand, and whispered in his ear. I looked at him questioningly, but he just shrugged it off.
"Your owner of Victoria Exposed right?" Tyler asked into the silence.
"Yes, I had been friends with Victoria that stole the idea of Victoria Secrets, from me. However it had been, Clara Secrets, but she couldn't very well use my name." My mother explained. I wanted to roll my eyes, I had heard this story over and over. Victoria is my Aunt, whom my mom stopped talking to long ago, because of this.
"An... Ella's father owns a hotel company. A small one, its only really known for New York, he moved when we got married." My hand tightened, and I noticed Tyler gasp, I realized I had probably crushed his fingers, I withdrew my hand with an apologetic smile. He caught my hand, placed a kiss on the fingers, and placed out hands back to where it was.
"I thought Fell's father died?" Tyler challenged, I stifled my 'thank you.' My mom tensed, and smiled.
"What does Fell mean?" My mother asked, avoiding the question.
"Its a private joke, I call her Fella. I enjoy being the only one to call her it." Tyler shrugged. The waiter came by with two wine glasses, and a bottle. My mother looked at him questioningly.
"Sir." He said placing the glasses in front of me and Tyler. He poured the wine, it was unmistakable smell, and color. It was the wine I had told him about. I placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you." I said, touched he had listened.
"What is that?" My mother asked. Tyler smiled.
"Well, since her father passed, we decided to pick up the habit, and make it anew. Peach Wine." Tyler stressed the word father. I knew with-out a doubt in my mind, my mother realized that this was my boyfriend being protective, and while it helped prove a point. It also made her smile vanish. She was loosing her cool. Which surprised me.
"Well then. How sweet." Silence once again took over.
"How are you doing in school darling?" My mother asked me.
