"are you done yet??" hyunjin asked as he fanned his sweating self using his shirt while leaning onto the shelf in the supermarket."not yet, hyung. this chocolate doesn't seem real" jeongin casually said as he picked up another brand of chocolate and carefully inspecting it.
hyejin on the other hand was at the frozen section, eyes sparkling bright as she eyed all sorts of ice cream. "chocolate.. vanilla.. strawberry.. mint, ew no! cookies n cream.."
her mouth watered at the sight of so many flavours. oh don't get her wrong. the last time her house had a box of ice cream was around months ago. the only ice cream she had eaten since then was a simple ice cream cone she bought once in a while whenever she's feeling down.
but that day, it's all on hyunjin 😈
so jeongin and hyejin of course grabbed all sorts of snacks they like without caring about the price.
"oh for fuck's sake we've been here for almost two hours guys! come on!!" hyunjin screamed, which he's sure could be heard by almost everyone in the supermarket. jeongin, although right beside hyunjin, stayed unbothered as he continued to inspect the chocolates.
"shut up, jin. it's sunday. meaning there are many people here" hyejin nonchalantly said as she continued to ponder on the ice cream flavour. she could hear hyunjin groaned from where she was stood.
"hmm it's either strawberry or vanilla.." she trailed off, eyes never leaving the two flavours. she had been standing there for almost ten minutes yet she still couldn't decide which one to pick. the people around her even gave up on giving her weird glances.
"pick strawberry. it's underappreciated" a voice interrupted her deep thoughts.
"okay you're right. it's been a while since i've had strawberry ice cream" she firmly replied before came to a realisation.
'holy fuck. this voice. i know this voice'
her eyes slowly widened at the thought before instantly snapping her head towards the newcomer. hyejin was left speechless as she witnessed her senior standing very close beside her, not sparing her a glance as he was engrossed at the sight of ice cream.
'akk it's jongho sunbae!!!' she gulped nervously, slowly becoming flustered especially at the distance they were currently in.
"uhh oh sunbaenim. annyeonghaseyo" she uttered, quickly backing up, leaving a decent space between them. "sorry if i was blocking you-"
"you didn't. don't worry" he turned to the flustered girl and offered her a smile, which, only made the girl redder than she already was.
'geez stop smiling i might just explode from all these feelings'
she nervously smiled back at him while fiddling with her fingers. hyejin was completely out of it as she tried to hide her red face with the help of her hair.
"here" she looked up only to see a carton of strawberry ice cream being held out for her. nervous, she slowly took it from jongho as she made eye contact with him.
he smiled again and that was enough to make hyejin return to her blushing state. "t-thank you, sunbae"
"no problem. anyways, i need to head out. see ya" jongho abruptly said, hearing his name being called by wooyoung who was ushering him to be quick. he hurriedly walked off, not before giving her one last smile and a small wave.
hyejin did a quick wave too with a big smile on her red face. after what it seemed like forever, she snapped out of her trance and quickly made her way towards her friend and her brother.
"oi jeongin wait up!"
