the next day

it was the next day when hyejin was walking towards her class. she was later than usual because she slept in. the school was almost filled with students, the first class was almost starting.

hyejin was walking alone, head filled with all sorts of thought. faint whispers were heard all around her. fingers pointing at her walking figure yet she failed to realise.

suddenly she dropped her book. she leaned down to grab it and when she stood back up, she finally realised the attention everyone was giving her.

hyejin glanced around in confusion. everyone around her was whispering things to each other and giving her all kinds of look, but mainly the look of disgust. the girl frowned.

the whispers then got louder and she finally caught on what they were talking about.

"she's the sister of the well-known pianist?"

"hyejin was the reason she killed herself?"

"disgusting. why'd she do that? i was a big fan of her sister"

"you're saying hyunjin lost his twin because of that petty little hyejin? the fuck"

"didn't you hear? she's the reason behind their father's death too"

"wow i thought hyejin is our ol little princess. turns out she's just a selfish brat"

hyejin's heart dropped. her hands were shaking. she nervously glanced around. multiple stares and disgusted looks were continously thrown at her. the girl lowered her head.

the whispers around her turned louder. she gripped both side of her head, hoping to block out all the harsh words. however, it only got worse.

the girl was panicking. sweat trickling down her face. tears filled her eyes. her sight became blurry. the faint image of her past flashed right in front of her.

"i want to be just like unnie!"

the man beside her grinned proudly. "of course, little one! i'm sure your sister's proud of you"

a sharp pain struck in her head.

"what have you done?!" a girl screamed. "this is all your fault, hyejin!!"

tears slowly falling out of her eyes.

a loud sob was heard. she turned around, glancing at hyejin. she ignored the younger's pleading.

"i was wrong. it wasn't your fault"

"hyejin. hyejin!!" a familiar voice was heard from the distance.

"unnie, please. don't do this" hyejin plead. she was crying.

"no. i need to see dad"

slowly, the elder took a few more steps towards the edge of the high rooftop.

"hyejin, it's jeongin! breathe, hyejin! please!"

placing her right foot in the air, she looked back at her little sister who was a crying mess.

"i'm sorry, hyejinnie.." at that, she lifted her other feet and before they knew it, she was falling. off of the tall building.

heavy footsteps were heard. the whispers turned into loud talking. a familiar warmth held her figure.

"what the fuck are you all still doing here?! get lost!!" the familiar voice of hyunjin shouted angrily, hyejin still in his arms.

"yeji, no!!"

hyejin ran.

she had never ran that fast in her entire life.

she ran with the fastest speed she could. hyejin tried to grab her hands but was too late.

she looked down at the ground beneath her in horror.

from afar, she could see a pool of blood surrounding the lifeless body of someone she loved so dearly. someone she looked up to ever since she was a little child.

someone she called,

her sister.

"jongho!! help me bring her to the nurse!"
