a year had passed.

hyejin was already fourteen. yeji was getting busier. she was receiving training from foreign instructors. not even her own dad was by her side.

due to this, the family got to see the father quite often. this made hyejin happy, of course. her dad got to teach her the piano. hyejin had been playing it for almost a year.

"wow. you're really good, hyejinnie" her brother praised.

"at this rate, you can easily pass yeji" he jokingly commented.

"nonsense. no one can beat unnie" hyejin humbled.

the two were in an empty music room at yeji's training place. their dad had some meeting going on and the two siblings wanted to tag along, hoping to see yeji whom they hadn't seen for months.

a sound of the door creaking caised them to snap their heads towards the sound. hyejin immediately stopped playing the piano. an unfamiliar man walked in.

once he stepped further inside the room, they saw the familiar figure of their sister following behind him. she stood by his side, blinking at the sight of her siblings.

"who was playing the piano?" the stranger asked in english. hyunjin unconsciously pointed at hyejin. the man smiled.

hyejin blinked. her english wasn't perfect at the time so she had no idea what he was talking about. her whole family understood english perfectly except for her and their mother.

"oh mr. lang! i see you've met my other children" mr. hwang entered the room.

the man named mr. lang chuckled. "yes yes. it seems that your youngest daughter here plays the piano?"

their father grinned proudly, glancing at the clueless hyejin. "hyejin had always been wanting to be just like her sister, yeji"

the man hummed. "oh trust me, hyejin's talented. she can even top yeji just with a little bit more practice"

yeji froze.

"i'll coach her myself. what do you say, mr. hwang?"

yeji's eyes widened. she felt her lips trembling.

slowly, she averted her gaze towards hyejin who was already spacing out. her hands balled into fists, her teeth gritted. her eyes filled with rage as they shot death glare towards her clueless younger sister.

there was no way hyejin will ever steal her place!

hyunjin was shocked at the man's offer. then, he realised.

he eyed his twin, who was trying her best to control her anger. he could see the wrath in her. he gulped.

he knew it.

things weren't going to be good. yeji was blinded by greed.

hyunjin knew it.

she was his other half after all.
