sixty-four

it's been going on for four days now. the rumor never died down. even when hyunjin and his friends tried their best to shut their mouths. it was useless. hyunjin had no idea how the students found out about their past.

hyunjin groaned in frustration.

as far as he knew, no one in school was supposed to know that he and hyejin was even related to the well-known deceased young pianist. only a few knew about it and that inluded minhee, jeongin, changbin, seungmin, felix, jisung and jisu.

"wait!" hyunjin exclaimed in realisation, startling his friends. "jisu.."

at that, seungmin's eyes widened. jongho, jisung and felix looked at them in confusion.

"elaborate please" jisung said. hyunjin looked at his friends.

"jisu knew yeji before. they were close friends"

jongho frowned. "so you're saying jisu spread the rumors?"

"but why would she spread it??" felix asked.

jisung clicked his tongue. "probably a revenge because of the thing between jongho and hyejin"

felix nodded in understanding. hyunjin sighed. jongho on the other hand was taken aback. there was no way jisu would do that. the boy stood up, offended.

"jisu would never do such thing!" he protested. the four boys looked up at him in confusion. "so you're defending her now?" jisung asked.

"i'm defending her because i know she won't stoop that low just to chase a fucking guy" he retorted.

"and that fucking guy is you. how'd you know what she'd do to get you?" jisung stood up, crossing his arms.

"jisung, cut it. he knew jisu before hyejin. it's natural for him to defend jisu, alright?" felix spoke up, pulling his friend to sit back down.

"tch. yeah, well. just like us, we knew hyejin before jisu so if that little girl friend of yours is in fact behind all of this, i won't hesitate to throw hands" jisung said to jongho, eyes staring him dead in the eyes.

hyunjin had enough of their argument so he got up and walked away, wanting to get some fresh air to clear his mind. jongho quickly chased after him.

"hyunjin!" jongho panted when he finally caught up with the said boy, stopping at the rooftop.

hyunjin didn't bother looking at jongho as he continued to stare at the sky.

"hyunjin, please trust me. jisu wouldn't do that" jongo said. he was practically begging for hyunjin to believe him.

after minutes of silence, hyunjin turned to jongho. he gave him a small smile.

"i know"

jongho blinked.

"you don't blame her?" jongho asked, confused.

"nope. i trust her" hyunjin sighed.

"besides. jisu promised to never talk about my sister to her other friends"
