hyejin stirred in her sleep, repositioning herself for comfort. however, she couldn't get back to sleep as she felt a pair of eyes on her.

slowly opening her eyes, she realised that she was still in the library but with lesser students around.

"ew hyejin when did you fell asleep" she grumbled to herself before knocking her forehead on the table.

the male sitting in front of her flinched at the sound.

"damn that's gotta hurt like a bitch" he commented, unconsciously rubbing his own forehead.

head still facing down, hyejin widened her eyes.

'who's that?!' she panicked. 'he sounds familiar'

wanting to find out who, she slowly poked out her head, taking a small peek at the boy across her. her eyes instantly went wide.

jongho smiled. "hi"

flustered, hyejin immediately hid her face back in her arm. jongho chuckled.

'what is he doing here??'

"are you not going to greet me back?" he questioned, faking a sad voice.

"hello" hyejin greeted, still hiding her face.

the boy smiled wider. "why aren't you looking at me?"

'he's really asking me that when i practically just wake up from a nap AND not to mention the embarrassing phone incident just HOW can i face him?? is he clueless or what' hyejin thought.

covering her face with both hands, she turned around in her seat so her back was facing him before hurriedly taking out her phone and inspecting her face, making sure she didn't look ridiculous.

jongho on the other hand stared at her amusingly. he shook his head at her actions.

once hyejin was sure she looked decent with no sight of drool on her face, she turned around and faced him.

"you look just fine, hyejin. no need to panic" the boy said. hyejin just pursed her lips not knowing what to say.

"uhm what are you doing here?" she asked, making sure she didn't sound rude.

"saw you alone and sleeping so i decided to sit here so people won't bother you" he explained, giving her a small smile that surely made her knees weak.

'how come a person can smile so beautifully like that..' she spaced out for a second before snapping out of her trance.

"oh. uhm thank you i guess.." she replied, avoiding eye contact.

'should i talk about the phone call? or no??' she contemplated, lightly biting her lower lip nervously.

jongho noticed her nervous look. his brows twitched in concern. "you okay?"

she slowly looked up at him while fiddling with her fingers.

"uhm i want to apologise about the phone call i made yesterday.." she said with head down.

jongho blinked in realisation. to be honest, he almost forgot about it. until she brought it up.

"hyunjin pulled a prank on me and put your number under his name.." hyejin nervously explained. she felt very embarrassed at the moment.

the elder laughed. hyejin looked up and stared at him in awe.

it was her first time hearing him laugh genuinely like that. she didn't realise she was smiling along.

"that is so a hyunjin thing to do" he tried controlling his lauhter. once he calmed down, he smiled at her. "it's fine. don't be embarrassed. though i was very confused when you shouted out those things"

he giggled remembering how awkward he was when it happened yesterday. hyejin averted her gaze away as she became shy.

jongho tilted his head, lips still smiling.

"i hope we can be friends"
