the whispers continued. they followed her everywhere. even in her own class.

hyejin gulped. she lowered her head, trying to distract herself by studying but it was impossible. the judging stares thrown at her, they were too much.

minhee looked at her friend worriedly. she looked around the class and saw her classmates kept talking about hyejin's past. minhee balled her fists.

she had enough.

minhee slammed her hand down onto her desk, causing the whole class to turn quiet.

"can you all please shut up for once?!"

slowly, their classmates went back to doing revision.

"why would we shut up? it's a big news for everyone" a voice spoke up.

all attention turned towards the voice. jeongin frowned.

"it's not your business, siwoo. just mind your own life" minhee snapped.

"or what?"

she shot the smirking boy a glare. hyejin reached up to minhee to calm her down but minhee lightly pushed her hand away before standing up.

jeongin chased after minhee who was already making her way towards siwoo.

"gosh you're gettig on my nerves i swear to god-"

"minnie, let him be" jeongin plead.

"no, jeongin. let her speak. unless.." siwoo glanced at hyejin.

".. miss hwang hyejin would like to speak instead?"

hyejin slowly looked up at the boy. she froze. no words escaped her lips.

minhee gritted her teeth. "you son of a-" suddenly siwoo was thrown to the floor.

everyone gasped. minhee looked at jeongin with wide eyes.

"i've been waiting to give you that punch since a while now, you dickhead" jeongin spat out angrily. siwoo held his jaw, shooting the former a death glare. jeongin was about to give him another punch when a body immediately stood before him.

"jeongin! let's not fight, okay?? fighting him is a waste of energy" chenle, the class rep advised.

minhee held his hand in hers, calming him down. jeongin shot siwoo one last glare before getting out of class. minhee glanced at him worriedly. she looked back at the boy who was still on the floor and stuck out her tongue. "you deserve that, you shit"

with that, minhee made her way back to her seat. hyejin bit her lip nervously. jeongin had never punched someone in his whole life. not even once.

"is jeongin alright?"

minhee shot her an assuring smile. "of course he is. let him cool off a bit"
