'where u at'

hyejin clicked send before leaning onto the wall behind her while patiently waiting for her brother so they'd walk home together. soon enough, her phone dinged.

'at the practice room. come over'

"tsk" she rolled her eyes at his text.

"as always. i'm the one who has to walk all over to him" she grumbled before pushing herself off the wall and head towards the practice room.

just as he was nearing her destination, she heard a familiar honey voice singing to a melody. curious, she peeked into the music room nearby and her eyes instantly shined as soon as she saw the familiar figure stood by the window, his back facing her.

'ok i love his voice..' she thought. a wide smile plastered on her face.

after a while of singing, the song finally came to an end. the boy turned around and was surprised to see hyejin by the door.

"how long were you there?" jongho asked, curiously staring at her.

hyejin gulped, scared at the fact that she was caught red handed. unconsciously, she blurted out a compliment.

"i love your voice"

she blinked.

'what the fuck, hyejin??'

shutting her eyes, she tried to throw away the embarrassment. jongho on the other hand chuckled, his smile never leaving his lips.

"thank you" he walked up to a chair and gestured her to sit on the one beside him.

hyejin was hesitant at first but seeing jongho's anticipation, she decided to just do as he said. as soon as she took a seat, she felt the air became tense and it was very awkward.

"aren't you going home?" jongho asked while making himself comfortable in his seat.

"uhm i was waiting for hyunjin.." she sheepishly replied while fiddling wih her fingers.

jongho nodded understandingly.

"were you singing a song you would perform on that night?" she asked, finally finding the guts to do so.

jongho gave her a smile before nodding his head. "was it alright?"

hyejin looked up, seeing his face full of concern.

"you're good. very good" she beamed. he smiled before letting out a satisfied sigh.

hyejin was about to continue when she was interrupted by another figure.

"jjong, let's practice one more time and head home- oh? hyejin?" jisu asked, surprised seeing the younger there.

hyejin stood up in response and nervously smiled, as if she was caught doing somethig bad. jongho blinked. she let out a nervous chuckle.

"i.. uhh was just.. passing by.." she choked out. slightly bowing at the elder, she rushed her way out of the music room before heading straight towards where she was supposed to go in the first place.

jisu and jongho looked at her questioningly. jisu sighed in relief before taking the seat beside jongho.

the boy looked at the girl curiously.

"why is she scared of you?"

jisu scoffed playfully. "no she's not. maybe it's just that i'm a senior"

jongho squinted his eyes before shrugging. "yeah, whatever. let's get to practice"
