I took a gulp of my water as the sweat trickled down my body.

"Good job on catching today King. I'm excited to see the next game." Coach said walking back to the locker room.

I sat down on the bleacher and closed my eyes and took in deep breaths trying to catch my own.

"You were pretty hard on the guys." Travis said sitting next to me.

"Was I?" I asked.

"Almost sent Draven to the hospital. Luckily you didn't hit him too hard, but I saw where you could've ended his season this year."

"Guess my minds really on our next game."

"Well it is our rival game isn't it?"

"Thought so." I panted.

"King!" I looked up and Beckon walked over to me holding out his hand.

"That was really good." he said.

I ignored him and looked back down at the ground.

"Damn, ok I was just trying to fix shit. Next time I'll tell Laney to compliment you."

"Beckon get the fuck out of here." Elias snapped and Beckon jogged off the field.

I ignored him and whatever Elias and Travis were saying.

I can't stay focus, anger was running through me.

Her words echoed through my brain, it didn't make sense. Wasn't she taking her medication? Why's she lashing out? One minute we are ok, we're happy I thought. The next she's pointing out my flaws like I've always done wrong. Why didn't I say anything to her? Why did I just leave like that. Was I mad at myself for her being right or mad that she couldn't see the progress we've made?

"Hey King!" Elias shoved me a little to catch my attention.

"What?" I looked over at him now.

"Your phone's ringing."

I pulled it out realizing it's my mom.

"Hello?" I said through the phone.

"I'm reminding you that this Saturday is the big party and that you are invited and can bring a date. Elias was also was invited too. Ok? Now that I got that out of the way I need to get that back to work. I love you!"

"Bye." I hung up and Travis was getting up.

"See you later guys. I got a party to get too. See you there Elias?"

"Can't. Veronica wants me home so we can start planning for our baby."

"Reason why I use protection." Travis said. "What about you Axel?"

"I'll go. Text me the address."

"Will do." he nodded running off.

Elias sat down next to me. "Veronica told me to invite you over to help build some things. You down?" Elias asked.

"Of course." I nodded.

We drove over to their apartment and Veronica looked surprised to see me there.

"That's weird." Veronica said out loud.

"What?" I looked back at her.

"I just got off the phone with Laney and she told me she can't come because you and her were going somewhere." Veronica looked at me like I held her question.
