Chapter Thirty Three

Delaney

He was someone I've never really appreciated until now. I've definitely misjudged him and treated him worse than he needed to be. I didn't look at his story, or see his tired eyes as clearly as I do now. I see the stressed lines appearing every time he's quiet, his careful eyes that show more than he knew. I saw the scruff appearing on his chin, he looked tired, worried, concerned. Someone like him I never thought would feel the stress, the anxiety as much as I did. But he felt it all just the same and if not more. Paparazzi was on his tail, the hunger of the people basically cut at his throat. He was a King but if he messed up, just once, his kingdom would fall. He'd fall, he had to be the good one, cautious, he couldn't be a disaster. He had to be perfect, no mistakes, flawless. But the man I see is different than what the world sees. He's changed or he's opening his heart for more people to break. I wanted to protect it, the heart of gold I see. He was the most precious jewel, the one with the imperfections.

"Why are you staring so hard?" he asked me.

"I'm just admiring you that's all." I muttered then was surprised at the words that fell through my mouth.

"Damn Tucker I didn't know you had it in you to say shit like that."

"It slipped-" I was going into shock, I had to of been going into shock.

He laughed and shook his head. "It sure did something." he responded.

"It wasn't weird to say was it?" I looked at him then.

"I've never been told that so it's-" he paused. "different."

"Oh my gosh!" I covered my face as I felt my cheeks redden.

"But it wasn't the worst."

"It was pretty darn close though." I muttered.

"Stormi, it was cute. You usually don't say cute shit."

"This cringe worthy Axel admit it."

"Stormi it was cute."

"I'm an embarrassment to this freaking generation."

"Delaney breathe, I still like you, heck maybe more than I originally did. You make me fall harder and harder every second."

I looked at him and he was smiling.

"You must be sick." I stated.

"Sick maybe." he smiled his perfect smile. "But at least I'm not sick of you." he smiled even wider at his own pun.

"Do you trust me?" he asked as we stopped somewhere deep in the woods.

"Are you gonna kill me?" I asked.

"Never." he whispered.

"That's what all the psycho killing dates say before slaughtering in the woods."

He removed his hands from my eyes and let me admire the view.

"Oh cute." I said not that impressed but it was the thought that count.

"It's the woods Stormi you don't have to lie, but turn around and face me."

I did and behind him there was a waterfall, it was in view but far enough away that I could barely hear the sound.
