Chapter Eighteen

Delaney

I washed my hair when I got home and took in a deep breath before calling my dad.

It rang until I got his voicemail. I hung up hating leaving a voicemail, knowing they won't listen to it. So I called my stepmom instead.

It rang once before she answered.

"Hello hun!" she was in a good mood.

"Did you want me coming home for Thanksgiving?" I asked her.

"I was hoping you would, your grandmother from your moms side is coming down finally. I'd appreciate it too and I'm sure your dad would love the idea of seeing his little girl. Plus your siblings miss you."

"I'll catch a flight two weeks from now. I'll stay down for a week." I responded.

"Lovely!" she cheered.

"Jenna?"

"Yes sweetie?" she waited for me to respond with a light hearted question.

"Could I bring a friend?" I asked her suddenly.

"Sure!" she was smiling. She's always been happy. Unlike my own mother.

"Ok. I need to get going. I just wanted to make sure. I hope you have a good week."

"Oh I hope you do too! I can't wait to see you. Love you Delaney, see you soon."

I hung up and blow dried my hair before cooking for Axel who wasn't here.

My phone vibrated and Beckon name appeared.

"Movies 2nite?"

I shook my head before responded.

"Can't :( gotta study for a test tonight"

He responded right away.

"That is just too bad, if you need help studying you know my place is always opened"

"Duly noted"

I stirred the soup and grilled the chicken on the patio.

Axel came back to the apartment with wet hair and annoyed look on his face.

"Axel?" I called his name and he ignored me which made me wonder what I did wrong.

The door swung open to reveal Beckon.

Beckon shouldn't know I live here. I know we talked last night about Axel's place yesterday but it's because Beckon knows there's feelings there. I didn't slip up did I?

I dropped down to the floor before being seen.

"I'm not done talking to you!" Beckon yelled.

"I'm done talking to you!" Axel argued back.

I turned off the soup and snuck out to the patio shutting off the grill before walking into Axel's room to find him throwing off his shirt.

"Get your ass out of your damn room!" Beckon yelled.

Axel caught my eye before opening his door to the patio.

"What's going on?" I whispered.

Axel pointed to the bathroom before going into the smaller room only holding a toilet.

"He's here complaining about how I need to leave you alone. If you seriously hate me Delaney you could've said something and not threw a fit to Beckon."
