Chapter Thirty Two
Axel
I stood on the balcony impatient with my mother on the phone.
"I can't today." I responded to my mother.
"Why not, I need you in Tokyo tonight to get them to take a deal. Your father can't because he got sick." my mother snapped.
"I'm going on a date."
"A date? Says who you are? Taylor will understand-"
"It's not Taylor." I interrupt her.
"Then who?" she sounded indifferent, unhappy.
"Who?" she repeated again this time angry.
"Stormi." I said is quickly like I didn't second guess.
"I'm sure she'll understand that you can't take her-"
"I bet she will understand but I don't want to be the type of guy, who promises her a date and then bails because you can't do your fucking job and you want me to come help because your struggling for them to want this too."
"If this doesn't go well Axel your father's business will crumble, do you want that?" she asked me.
"No, but I also don't want to lose her. I've been trying to impress her. I've actually put fucking time on her. Something you and dad once did. He put time for you and when we got famous you both turned toxic. It wasn't about the love anymore, it was about the show. I don't want that, I want that real shit."
"Axel-"
"Is it about the money mom? Are you worried that you'll lose everything? Shouldn't you already feel like you lost something?"
"What are you implying?" she snapped.
"Your losing a lot of people and you aren't even noticing it. Wait until you die, see how many fucking people come to that." I hung up with her angry, annoyed, I wanted to be here with Stormi, I wanted to show her the fun we could have, to trust me. This wasn't it though, telling her I was leaving and we'd have to find some time to try again.
I turned around and saw her opening the balcony door.
"Stormi." I smiled at her realizing how fucking cute she was in the outfit I bought her.
"You scared the shit out of me!" her eyes were glossy.
I pulled her into me and hugged her a little tighter than I usually did. "What are you talking about."
"You disappeared and you left the skillet on and I thought something happened." she whispered.
"I didn't leave." I responded. "I would never leave. My mom just called and I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry." I whispered then.
"What'd she call about." Stormi pulled away and looked at me.
She was without a trace of makeup on her face, her face was naturally beautiful. Her hair was wet and long something I'd want to play with.
"Nothing." I shook my head.
She didn't believe me but she tried too.
"Ok." she nodded looking down and noticing my hand in hers.
"This might sound really fucking dumb but can I braid your hair?" I asked her.
She looked up instantly. "You know how to braid hair?" she raised her eyebrows.
"Ryane taught me."
She smiled and nodded. "Then yes."
She disappeared and came back with a hair brush and two hair ties.
