Chapter Forty
Delaney
"Who?" he asked looking at me confused.
"Isabelle."
"Stormi I don't really want to meet fans right now." Axel sighed.
"No she's my friend."
"You want me to meet her right now?" he asked.
"Well no not right now since you don't seem to want too. We can do it later."
"Are you gonna come back with me to California after?" he asked.
"I already missed the exams Axel."
"I know, but I can easily get you to be able to take it again."
"No, I'll wait another year. Get enough money and then go." she said.
"Fuck no."
"Axel I need money in order to go back."
"Be my cook then." he smiled.
"Axel I can't work for you while being your girlfriend."
He sighed. "We're not dating right now."
"I just said yes to you!"
"We're breaking up right now." he stared at me deadass serious.
"I'm working at the flower shop here Axel."
"Fine so am I."
"Your on a football scholarship."
"If you don't go back I don't go back."
"Axel living with you was fun but I need to figure out myself." I stared at him.
"And you being home will help? You were just complaining about your dad."
"My moms here." I looked at him.
He sighed and shook his head, he laughed a short laugh. It was almost like he couldn't believe that was my next excuse.
"Really? She's gone Stormi." he grabbed my hand.
I knew that, I just didn't want to face them. I already fucked up what it I do it again. What if L.A was changing me?
"You promised me that it was me and you right?" Axel asked.
I nodded.
"You also promised that we'd tell each other the truth right?" he waited.
"Axel-"
"Did you promise me or were we both really fucked up that day?"
"I promised, I did-" I grabbed his arms and he looked at me.
"I lov-"
"Hey lovebirds I just wanted to get a head count for caroling." Jenna smiled. "Those boxes sure are moving hun." she gave me a look that told me to get my ass moving but she would never say it while Axel's here. She lingered a little longer than necessary before shutting the door.
Axel's eyes landed on me. "What were you gonna say."
I think he knew what I was gonna say.
"I love spending time with you but I'm staying in Michigan."
"Don't worry Stormi I'm not going anywhere." he smiled. "Now what was the real thing you were gonna say."
"Don't worry about it." I mumbled picking up a box.
