Axel

I sat down at the table as Abby was talking about her college life and the long distance that came with it. I wanted to roll my eyes but I restrained myself from doing so. I was so pissed as I watched her pretend that the night before never happened.

Stormi sat next to me and fed her little sister Zoe.

Mya had a bag of gummy bears next to her plate and she placed them on her pancakes.

"Are those good?" I asked her.

She smiled and nodded. "Wanna try?"

Stormi looked over at Mya and smiled.

"Should I?" I then looked at Stormi.

"I don't like them, but you might." she shrugged her shoulders.

"Axel, are you staying for Christmas?" Jenna then asked.

"I would like to but I probably should go to my parents."

"That's too bad." she sighed. "Delany was talking about staying here until the fall semester."

I looked at her. "I know." and then I looked back at Jenna. "I know a really good job in L.A. but she just won't take it."

"I heard your a football player."

I nodded. "I am."

"One of the best." Steve stepped in.

I ignored his comment. "I was thinking about quitting next year."

That caught Stormi's attention.

"Why?" she looked at me.

"Just isn't fun anymore."

"I've seen you play Axel, just because it's not fun doesn't mean you stop."

"I just know I won't be able to focus if a certain someone isn't there. I get concerned." I lowered my voice so only she could hear.

"We'll talk later about this." she muttered.

"Will we?"

She nodded.

I heard the front door open and a set of shoes walk against the hardwood floor and then another set of shoes followed by one more.

"I pulled in and found these two at the door. They said they know you Lane."

Stormi turned her head and as did I.

I saw someone who had some of Stormi's characteristics but not enough for me to tell if it was her father or not.

"Dad." she smiled and he ignored her and had his focus on the guest.

I could see the way he disliked her.

"I'm so sorry for intruding like this. I know I shouldn't. I'm Veronica and this is Elias." she smiled.

Elias stayed back but held Veronica's hand.

"What are you doing here?" Stormi got up and I followed her motion.

"After Hunter left we assumed he would've been here and paparazzi has been on the hunt for Axel since the scandal. Plus I know wherever you go, boys seem to follow." Veronica smiled.

She hugged Stormi and whispered something to her.

Elias stayed back.

"More guests." Jenna smiled.
