Forgive Me

I was home, alone, which was rare these days. Second day in a row actually. I had just showered and changed, my comfy shorts and one of Obito's t-shirts I had found here. I guess I washed it in this last load of laundry. I was braiding my hair when I heard a knock at my door. I was curious who it was, it was Thursday night and I haven't seen anyone. Work had been uneventful the last two days, and I haven't seen any of the Uchiha family, at all.

I opened the door, expecting a male, with raven hair to be standing before me. Instead, I found a woman, light auburn hair and soft brown eyes taking in my appearance. Rin. There was no doubt in my mind. She was a little curvier than in the picture, but her cute and innocent look was still on her face. She was wearing black slacks and a pink blouse, a sickly sweet smile on her face.

"Oh, I was looking for-"

"Obito. He's next door. I'll walk you over."

She stepped back a little, letting me exit my penthouse. We reached the door in question and I knocked, her standing just slightly off center behind me. I glanced back to see she was focused on the door, she cut her eyes to me and smiled again. I tried to breath instead of going crazy. She had no idea who I was, or so I assumed. The door opened and there he stood, shirtless and glorious.

"Hey, beautiful, what- Rin?" His tone went from flirty and inviting to shock, and awe.

"She knocked on my door by accident. Night, Obito." I don't know why I said his name, but I did. I moved out of the way and let her step forward.

"Hi." She giggled. She fucking giggled. She's been gone how many years and the bitch just giggled?

I kept walking. I couldn't take it, this strange feeling filled my body and I needed to get away. What could I do? Where could I go? Thursday night? Deidara is working, but I try to not drink and drive. The bar up the street? The cops usually hang out there after work. I didn't want to be in my penthouse, not when they were just next door, reminiscing. I decided to make a phone call, to try and distract me.

"Y/n?" The man's voice was just like I remembered, deep and velvety.

"Hey, Zabuza." I smiled.

"You must need something, you never call."

"Well, I do need something." I admitted.

His laugh drifted into my ears and I had this urge to see him. "What is it?"

"I was curious if I could have Rogue back? Kakashi is wanting me to get a protection dog."

"Kakashi? Are you two-"

"No. A lots happened since I moved back, and it makes sense for me to have Rogue."

"I can't drive down until next week sometime, I'm on assignment." The former officer was now an FBI agent, Kakashi and I both new him. Though, Kakashi didn't know I still spoke to him, I'm sure.

"That's fine. I'd drive up if I could, but I can't take off work."

"Maybe we can grab a drink when I come down?" Zabuza was always a fun date.

"We'll see, Zabu."

"Hmm, I'll let you know what day, hot stuff."

"You're such a flirt."

"You like it."

"You might be right." I laughed.

"Night, Y/n."

"Night, Zabu."

The phone call ended and I found I was a little calmer, but still on edge. I sighed and decided to head for the balcony, whiskey and cigarette in hand. The worst decision I made in a long time. I looked over my shoulder when I heard voices from beside me, like the idiot I am. Rin had her back against the railing, Obito stood before her, that charming smile on his features. Then, he kissed her.
