I made it to Thursday with no issues, no hiccups, and no roadblocks. Meaning: the week had gone smoothly. Kisame was in the spare penthouse now, meaning Itachi or Sasuke would have to bunk with someone else or stay on a separate floor. I could tell Madara wanted me at the mansion or on his floor of the building, but I absolutely refused. Kisame and I haven't had a chance to talk, so I have no idea what Madara told him. I planned on taking lunch outside of work today, so we'd be able to talk then.

"I don't see why I can't drive," I mumbled in a huff as Kisame drove to work.

"Because Madara wants me to watch you, and you don't pay attention when you drive," Kisame smirked at my frown.

"You don't know how I drive."

"Just hush, you should feel privileged, like a princess."

"Privileged my ass." I groaned, making Kisame burst into laughter. "I'm glad you're entertained by my misfortune."

"You have no idea." I could hear there was no humor in his words, but he was still trying to make light of the situation.

"Today, I'd like to have lunch at Ichiraku."

"I haven't eaten there in a while, sounds good to me." I nodded though Kisame hadn't looked at me.

Today was the meeting with Neji and Itachi, as well as Shisui and Kakashi. The Neji and Itachi meeting was at ten this morning and then Shisui and Kakashi was at three this afternoon. Kisame and I headed inside and towards my office, today was the first day anyone would see Kisame with me, I guess everyone was off yesterday, aside from Sakura and Sasuke. Kisame said we should start bringing Rogue, but I wanted to ask Madara first, just out of respect at this point.

"Kisame?" Itachi's voice from the break room had Kisame and I stopping before entering my office.

"Morning, Tachi." I smiled.

"Hey man, it's been a while." Kisame gave his signature grin that made me wish I had tried harder to sleep with him before this mess.

"What are you doing here?" Itachi asked, following us into my office.

"He's my bodyguard." I answered plainly.

To see confusion on Itachi's face was amusing, so I didn't fight back the laugh that bubbled its way into my throat. "Madara's orders." Kisame added with a shrug as he sat down.

I settled at my desk, "Per my request. Who knows who he would've assigned to me otherwise."

"What is going on?" Itachi asked.

Itachi stood in front of my desk and I gazed up at him, letting my head lull to the side slightly before answering. "Madara wanted me to have a bodyguard, I refused at first, but decided that if he insisted, that I'd at least have a say in who it was."

Itachi glanced over to Kisame who just shrugged, "I understand the incident at the benefit was stressful, and all, but does Madara's assistant really need a bodyguard?"

"No, " the new voice was like a lullaby and a warning all at once. "But his lover does."

Itachi's eyes never left mine as Madara explained the situation, so I was able to see the emotions stream across his face before his normally stoic expression settled back onto his features. "Well, I suppose congratulations are in order then." Itachi was far from pleased.

"Your feelings have no leverage here, so I really don't care if you're happy or not." Based on Madara's words, he knew his nephew's feelings though he wasn't even looking at him.

Madara stood in the doorway of my office and had his hands in his pockets. A deep navy suit adorned his body today, and it fit him well, as most of his clothes did, white and crisp shirt on beneath it. Itachi finally turned to look at his uncle, now mirroring his bored and aloof behavior. Itachi gave a shrug and said, "If she's going to be in the family, and cared for, of course, I'll be happy."
