March 23rd:

- Two days until the wedding

Obito never got the call because this was all a setup. This was the plan. I don't know where it all went wrong. I don't know how it went wrong, but it did. It fell apart faster than I could comprehend. I spent the day in my rooms, and Madara's, moving and packing things. It seemed as though I was packing for our honeymoon and an overnight bag for me to stay at the penthouse on Friday, the night before the wedding. I was really packing my getaway bag.

What happened that night though...

I stood in the bedroom and was face to face with a man intent on killing on me. I wasn't sure if tonight would be the night but his aura was screaming with killing intent. I couldn't move. I couldn't speak. He had finally caught me in the act of meeting someone, though I wasn't sure if he knew who. This may have been my plan, but he had been here before me.

It was dark, the only light drifting from the bedroom window as I waited for Obito, or so it seemed. I was dressed in nothing but my bra and panties, not wanting to waste time once he arrived. I opened my mouth but nothing came out and the menacing man before me let out a dark and deep chuckle before he spoke.

"I beat him here it seems," a step closer, "what will Madara do when I have the proof that you've been fucking his oldest nephew this entire time?" Another step, "not just that," another step and a chilling smirk, "that you've gone and fallen in love with the fool." A final step and he was only a foot away. This meant that Madara and Izuna were still not speaking.

Izuna opened his mouth to speak again but the flash of a silencer from a gun muzzle caught my attention and I gasped. The sound of a body falling to the floor filled my ears. The spray of blood on my exposed skin didn't even bring me back to reality. The buzzing in my ears alerted me to the impending panic attack but I had to bring myself out of it, I couldn't lose it, not now.

"Asami," Obito's voice was low and hushed as he stepped over the body of his uncle and held my shoulders.

"Bito," I mumbled, I felt the panic clawing at me, "no, no, no, no." I chanted over and over as he tried to draw my attention to him.

"Asami, look at me. It's okay, we-"

"We have to leave, now," I didn't hesitate as I grabbed his hands from my shoulder and moved to get dressed, ignoring the blood and who knows what else on my flesh. The head wound left no doubt that the man was dead.

"We are," he spoke softly as he followed me around the room.

I pulled my jeans on in a haste and then my sweatshirt, "What car are you in?" I asked as I pulled my shoes on.

"Don't worry, there's no GPS on it, it's a mustang. I asked Fugaku if I could test drive it." He was being careful, he planned this out. I grabbed my burner phone Kisame had given me just hours before and then moved to walk out the door. "You're bringing your phone?"

"This is a burner phone," I didn't look back, unable to look at him. Once he found out the truth, it would all be over, "come on, we have to hurry."

"Asami," he tried to reach for me but I was moving with the adrenaline in my veins and couldn't focus on anything but getting out of there, "will you wait?!" His raised voice made me pause in the hallway.

I looked back to see him in the doorway and I was now at the elevators, "We don't have time to talk, not here." I pressed the button as he closed the door and jogged to reach me.

Tension filled the metal box of the elevator and I was trying to calm myself and think rationally, not emotionally. My mind raced as we headed to the car, a sleek black mustang GT sat waiting for us, and I headed to the driver side door. I looked at Obito impatiently and held out my hand. I could see he was about to argue but he must've noticed the look in my eyes as he reluctantly handed me the keys.
