"I'll only be in Kiri for the day," Madara spoke as we ate breakfast... together... at our dining room table.
"Will you be home for dinner?" I asked as I began to pick up the dishes.
"You don't have to clean everything, I do pay someone to do that," Madara chuckled at my uneasiness about have servants on more than one occasion.
"I gave Mia the day off," I was curious how he would react to this news.
"Why would you do that?" Madara moved to stand in the kitchen as he watched me clean the dishes.
"It's her son's birthday," I replied softly.
"A bleeding heart," Madara smirked as I dried my hands and stood before him. "Like always."
I was in slacks and a long-sleeved blouse this morning and Madara was dressed in his suit, jacket currently missing. I moved closer and wrapped my arms around his torso and pressed my cheek to his chest. Madara's heart was beating at a steady pace and it was soothing as it did so. I thought of what life might've been like if I hadn't let myself fall for Obito for a moment. In truth, Madara has really been nothing but a gentleman, perhaps a little rough and possessive, but overall, he's just wanted to take care of me.
"I'm cooking tonight," I mumbled lightly before turning and placing my chin on his chest. "Any requests?"
"Whatever you wish, my sweet," his fingers brushed my cheek, "I look forward to seeing what you prepare."
I pushed up and kissed him lightly, but he had other ideas. I moaned into the kiss as he bunched my hair into his hand. Our bodies were pressed tightly to one another as his tongue roamed my wet cavern. I was weak from the lack of oxygen by the time we were finished. My face was flush and this endearing smile was across Madara's lips. I thought he would say it then, I can feel his need to whisper the words to me and I wasn't sure I could handle it.
"My sweet," I hummed letting him know I was listening, "next week," well that's definitely not what I expected, "will be your debut at the restaurant."
I bit my lip and cut my eyes to his chest where my hands now rested. "As you wish." I was being trained and I didn't appreciate it.
"You're precious to me, my sweet, and I wish to show you to the world. Is that so wrong?" We were getting closer and closer to the admission.
"I suppose not, darling," a pressed my lips to his again and stepped away slowly.
"I'll see you this evening, my sweet," a kiss to my forehead and he slipped out the door.
Kisame entered about ten minutes later with Rogue following behind him. I was unable to visit Kikyo this week due to the wedding planning, but I've spoken to her twice a week since I've seen her. I told Zabuza that I might be able to visit next week or the week after, but I wasn't sure. I was trying to decide if Rogue would be going back to Zabuza, I felt as though the canine was being mistreated these days.
"You okay, lamb?" Kisame asked as we drove to the office.
"I'm having lunch with Obito today," was my answer and I was pretty sure I knew how this would go.
"Is that a good idea?" I glanced over to see his eyes still focused on the road.
"Probably not," I replied with a dry laugh.
No other words were exchanged on the drive and I was left alone for the day as well. I had avoided talking to Madara about the drug trial, but I've kept an eye on the reports as they came in. No adverse side effects at the moment, but it's only been three weeks. We had another three weeks before we started weaning them off the drug. I was extremely curious how that was going to go.
