"What do you mean I have to stay in the car?" Kisame and I have been arguing all morning, and he wasn't very happy with me.
"Zabuza is an FBI agent, he's here to discuss my case and sensitive material, you can't be there and I won't have my phone in there either," I explained, again.
"Madara will not be happy about this," Kisame grumbled.
We were sitting in the hotel parking lot and he was refusing to let me out at the moment. "I'm sure Madara heard my conversation with Zabuza the other day, he knows I planned on you staying in the car."
"I'm waiting in the lobby and you'll tell me what room you're in."
"Kisa, I-"
"Nope, that's the only way I don't follow your ass all the way up," Kisame growled.
"1218," I answered knowing I wouldn't win.
"Little lamb, I hope you know what you're doing," Kisame warned as he stepped out of the car and came to open my door.
"If you're worried I'm sleeping with Zabuza, I can assure you that I am not." It was the truth.
We walked into the hotel and Kisame settled on a couch with his phone in his hand and a bored expression on his face. I headed for the elevators and waited for the doors to open. I felt anxious as the ding filled my ears and I entered the metal box, pressing the twelfth floor. It was a slow ride and I wanted out of the elevator so badly. I kept my nerves at bay as I walked down the hallway, still anxious even though I tried to fight it away. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"There you are." Zabuza smiled as he opened the door, "I was starting to worry you couldn't find a reason to leave."
I smiled lightly and went to step into the room until I heard, "I'm glad I found you before I left."
No! I began to panic as I turned my head to see the Uchiha smiling as he approached, Kisame behind him, and a similar look of panic on his face. Madara must've tracked my phone, but I didn't expect him to still be in town.
"Is everything alright? Your flight left two hours ago." I knew I sounded worried, but it was for all the wrong reasons.
"Izuna got held behind, so I waited for him. We leave in a couple of hours when the plane returns." Madara explained as he stopped next to me.
"Did you need something?" I blinked up at him and I could see Zabuza look over his shoulder.
"Just to see you before I left." He looked to Zabuza now, "and remind you to be cautious of your words."
A warning, that's what this was. "Of course, darling."
"Is something the matter?" Madara moved closer and I went to step towards him, but his overwhelming presence made me remain still.
"No, you just surprised me." Innocent, act innocent! I remained calm on the outside but on the inside, I was screaming for dear life.
"My sweet-"
"Mommy!" And there she was. The secret I had managed to keep for years, exposed to one of the most dangerous men of all time. "Mommy!" She shouted again, pushing past Zabuza, "Daddy said we get to spend the day with you."
Kikyo. My precious daughter, spitting image of myself aside from my eyes, she had Zabuza's eyes. "Of course, sweetie, it's your birthday after all." I crouched down and hugged her body close to mine and screwed my eyes shut. "Go back inside for a minute, mommy needs to talk to her friend."
"Okay!" She chirped and bounced back inside.
Once she was inside, Zabuza stepped out and closed the door. "Perhaps we can talk about this later," Zabuza said.
