I've made it ten days without incident and I'm sure my luck must be running out. We've had wedding planning and prep work nonstop since the Halloween party. The wedding is in eight days and since Sakura is pregnant, there's not going to be a bachelorette party. According to Itachi though, there will be a bachelor party: who knew. The bright idea was to invite me for some ungodly reason, and I politely declined.
Deidara is recovering well and should be back to work in a week or so, something Sasori has been thanking me for every time I see him. Kisame and I haven't really talked about anything, but we've been around each other every day. I feel like I haven't seen anyone since Halloween aside from Kisame and Madara either, and it's put me on edge slightly.
It's now Friday morning and I'm dressing for work in my own penthouse. I've spent most nights in my own penthouse with Kisame asleep on the couch. If I spend the night in Madara's penthouse, Kisame takes Rogue for me. There was a knock on the door and Kisame moved to open it as I finished my makeup.
"You always look good in red," that deep voice filled my ears and I smiled as I caught his gaze in the mirror.
I was wearing a red blouse and black skirt today, red heels to match, "I know it's one of your favorite colors on me."
I could see he was upset about something so I straightened and walked to him. Madara placed his hands on my hips and pulled me to him, "I'll be out of town this weekend."
Panic and unease rose in my chest and I tried to remain calm, "I hope it's nothing too risky," I wasn't really sure what to say.
"Not for me. I'm worried about you though," his admittance only proved we had the same thought: Izuna.
"I'll be fine, Kisame is here, and I won't be leaving aside to go see Naruto on Sunday," I smiled softly.
"You're not going tomorrow?" Madara seemed surprised.
"Hanging out with a bunch of men, drinking and celebrating the fact that the cranky one is getting married?" I arched a brow, "I hadn't planned on it."
A soft chuckle, "They plan on sitting in the VIP room at the club, who knows what they'll actually do."
I snorted, "Typical men."
"Does stripping bother you?" An odd question.
I shrugged, "Not really, the women are trying to make a living and they're using the carnal part of a man that's ingrained into him to their advantage. That being said, why pay for it when you can get it, and more, for free?"
My words earned me a squeeze on my hips, "Perhaps you should show me what you mean when I return home."
Oh heavens, "If you'd like," I gave him a playful smile before pushing upwards to kiss him.
As I pulled away, a small smirk was on his lips, "I most certainly would."
"When will you be home?" I asked as I blinked up at him.
"Monday afternoon, another trip to Suna in an attempt to find an ally against the Root," I was quite surprised with his honesty. I haven't heard much about the family business side of things.
"Be careful, the FBI in Suna is close with Zabuza," a little push to show my loyalty.
"Thank you, my sweet, I will be," Another kiss, this one longer and softer. I've been feeling this emotion building, from him, not me, and I was waiting for him to say it. Could he really be that easy to lure in?
Once breathless, I pulled away and smiled up at him, "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you, my sweet," a kiss to my forehead and he was gone.
