The next eighteen hours was utter mayhem, in Konoha and Kiri both. Zabuza drove to Kiri and back to Konoha in record time. He made arrangements for Kikyo to stay with Haku, his rookie partner and then packed a bag. Kakashi offered up his spare room, but both males were at the precinct and the hospital, sleeping on cots at both places. Kakashi and Zabuza were trying to figure out exactly what was going on, and what had happened, but Izuna was controlling everything. Until the FBI officially assigned the case to Zabuza, his hands were tied.

Danzo's wife, Ry's mother, was in a tizzy and screaming for Y/n's head on a silver platter, behind the scenes. I'm the morning paper a statement was released that the family was seeking justice and that charges would be pressed on the murderer/s. Ry's younger her brother, Jin, was planning his own trip to Konoha to talk to the police chief, even calling to speak to Izuna and schedule a meeting.

Tsunade refused to allow anyone into Y/n's room, at all. Izuna and Madara argued about who was going to be the first to enter, with each other, and Tsunade. Jirayia requested that he be the first, and that made matters worse. Zabuza prayed there would be an injunction and he would be the first, but it depended on his boss, and when she woke up. Tsunade didn't leave the hospital either, Jirayia and her both sleeping in her office.

A conference room was offered for the police to hold meetings and give a press release. Izuna and Madara also used the room to meet with the Senjus. It was a meeting that anyone would've paid to listen in on. The Senjus had no idea what they were walking into, the press only said there was a shooting at the wedding initially, and that's all they knew when they reached the hospital. Tobirama was brought to tears when he heard the news, shocking the entire room. Harsh words were exchanged since the Senjus were trusted with killing Ry, and he slipped past them all.

Obito probably had the hardest role of them all. He wanted to be there, but he couldn't. How would it look if the man who's wedding was ruined was at the hospital waiting for another woman to wake up? So, he had Izumi haul Rin off to the mansion and he went to the penthouse and locked himself in his room. Shisui was by his side the entire time. When they reached the penthouse floor, Obito locked him out of his penthouse though. Shisui pounded on the door, but when he heard the glass begin to break, he knew he wouldn't get through to him.

Sakura was hysterical and Sasuke was worried the baby would come early. Sasuke had his own moment of weakness, realizing the h/c had actually made her way into his heart somehow. Itachi felt the same and Izumi didn't know how to react to his emotions for the woman. Mikoto and Fugaku were distraught and offered Tsunade and Jirayia support in any way they could.

Most of the precinct, namely Kiba, Shikamaru, and Ino, all stopped by the hospital. Kiba sent flowers and a stuffed puppy that looked like Akamaru. Ino sent a fruit basket and a teddy bear. Shikamaru and Temari also sent flowers and Temari wanted to do something nice so she added a box of sweets from her home, Suna. Flowers and gifts poured in for the woman in such a short amount of time.

Naruto. He slept in the hallway outside her room and didn't leave the hospital. Hinata tried to get him to at least move to an open bed, a couch, or even a chair, but he wouldn't do it. The Hyuga Family was at a loss in how to help the blonde man, but they took turns in checking on him throughout the next day. Naruto's face was red, eyes bloodshot and puffy, nose raw from rubbing the snot away.

Almost exactly twenty-four hours from the moment the incident happened Zabuza and Kakashi headed towards Y/n's room. The hallway was quiet, a private suite at the end of the hall, an all too familiar room loomed. Naruto sat with his head in his hands and his fingers pulling at his hair. He heard the feet approaching and glanced to see his captain and friend following. A sad smile on his lips he stood up and waited for the men to reach him.
