***TRIGGER WARNING***

The penthouse was her sanctuary, fear creeping up on her at the thought of seeing Izuna. Madara was curious as to why she was so clingy, not wanting to leave his side. Madara had taken the week off to put her mind at ease. Izuna had shown back up on Wednesday, alone, and another heated exchange had happened. Her words at his departure had struck something within him both. She eventually had to tell Madara what had happened, but she was curious if Izuna had said anything to his brother or not.

"One day, it'll be me watching the life leave your eyes, not the other way around, Izuna. I can promise you that. And, until that day, I don't want to see your face again. If we're in the same room, you better pretend I don't even exist. I hate you, and I can't wait to watch them put you in the ground."

She wasn't sure where the mini-speech had come from, but she actually saw fear in his eyes, and the rush of power fueled by adrenaline filled her veins. Madara had shown up a few minutes later and she was trembling as she looked out the window. Y/n asked to go to the penthouse then, rather than the mansion, and Madara agreed, though he didn't know the extent of her reason why.

It was now Friday evening and they were laying in bed, not that they did much else over the last couple of days. Madara sat with his back to the headboard and she had her head in his lap. He was reading over emails although his mind couldn't seem to focus on the words that lit up his phone. She held a book in her hand but her own thoughts drifted from her as well.

"Why did you tell them Danzo shot you?" It had been eating away at him for the duration of the week and he finally caved.

Y/n lowered the book and let it lay on the bed, Madara setting his phone on the side table. "Why wouldn't I? You could've easily killed me, but you used the opportunity to warn me, and test me. You had no idea he was in that room, and I had a second to decide who lived and who died." She winced as she sat up and looked into those dark, black pools of his eyes, "I made the right decision then, and I made the right decision when I gave my statement."

A warm caress on her shoulder before he held her cheek and she leaned into his touch, "I should've never doubted you." He admitted quietly, "I'll protect you, with my own life if I must." She smiled at his confession, "What can I do to prove myself to you?"

Her eyes lit, "I may have threatened Izuna-"

"I was wondering what had gotten into him," Madara chuckled, "after my threats, I'm sure hearing yours pissed him off pretty badly."

A sheepish expression and she giggled, "If he wants me dead, why not make the feeling mutual?"

Madara gently guided her to his lap and slid his hands under her gown, the stitches of her wound under the touch of his thumb. "Why not follow through on your threat?"

His words shocked her and her face showed just that, "What?" She twitched under his touch when he brushed over the tender flesh again.

His hands held her hips now, "I think it's time Izuna disappeared," before he could elaborate his phone rang and they both knew it was Shisui based off the ringtone. It was an odd hour for him to call, well after midnight, so Madara answered the phone, "What is it?" He asked as he placed the phone on speaker.

"I was on a double date with Obito and Rin," Y/n rolled her eyes and Madara made a noise for his nephew to continue, "Rin left early, saying she had a shift at the hospital."

"Had she been drinking?" Y/n asked.

"Yes," he paused, "she did stop- that's not the point though."

"What's the point?" Madara was getting bored.

Shisui grew nervous, "The girl I'm dating, she works at the hospital," Madara and Y/n exchanged a look, "Rin is off until Sunday night."
