My Love

The wedding... I was dreading it.

I was so worried that something would happen. The track record for me and the parties at the mansion was not good. The charity event ended with... well, we all know how that ended. Then there was the Halloween party... an even worse ending in my eyes.

The wedding was perfect. Sakura was beautiful and Sasuke looked so in love when he saw her. The deep burgundy brides made dresses were elegant and form-fitting. The men's suits were crisp and the ties and handkerchiefs matched our dresses.

Tables full of daises of a deep wine color with white accents. Our bouquets of white with touches of the wine-colored daises and Sakura's the opposite. The men's corsages were white and red, where Sasuke's was red and white. Everything went perfectly and I was waiting for the explosion. It never came, though there were minor hiccups throughout the night.

The first...

Rin and I ended up at the bar at the same time. Obito has noticed and tried to swoop in, but it didn't matter, the woman hated me with a passion, but I did find out part of the issue. She was drunk already and it made her lips loose. Loose lips sink ships, after all.

"Ya know why I don't like you," she placed a hand on her hip and raised a brow in disgust, "you don't even try."

I wasn't sure what she meant, "What are you talking about?" I glanced at Obito but he only lifted a shoulder quickly before dropping it.

"You don't even make an effort to draw attention to yourself, and yet, the world seems to revolve around you. Not just here, in Kiri too." I narrowed my eyes in suspicion.

"Kiri? What about Kiri?" I stepped closer.

"I'm just assuming," she rushed to spit out, "that's where Ry is from, isn't it? And where you and Kakashi lived together before." I cut my eyes to Obito and we exchanged a silent look.

"Whatever, Rin," I'd have to address this later. "I don't try, because if I'm not myself, who would want me? If you don't love yourself, no one will."

"No one loves you," she snapped.

"How original," I mumbled, "I think someone might disagree," my eyes made a quick dart to Obito, but then I found Madara who was looking at me with longing. It was coming...

"Everyone, we would like to take a moment of your time if you will." Madara paused, allowing everyone to direct their attention to him at the base of the stage. "The family has two announcements we'd like to make this evening." There were soft murmurs around the room and I began racking my brain for the second announcement.

Madara extended his hand to the family table and I tilted my head slightly, "We would like to announce another engagement, Itachi has asked Izumi to become his wife." I snapped my head Shisui and I was happy to see a smile on his face, though his eyes were filled with sadness.

"Shisui," I whispered to myself, but I saw Obito turn his head to me.

"Secondly," Madara's voice caught my attention again and I looked back to find his eyes fixed on me again. Here it was... "I would like to announce my own relationship," the entire room went deathly silent just after a collective gasp was heard, "Y/n," he extended his hand to beckon me to him. I smiled, a bright and loving smile, as I strode across the room.

When I placed my hand in his he pulled me close and I wrapped one arm around him and the other placed delicately on his chest. I held his gaze a moment before I did what I knew he wanted: I kissed him. The room erupted into cheers, but when I broke away I saw all the disappointed faces in the distance.
