The time is 4:54 PM when Rhys checked it on his wristwatch. He's about to go on a coffee machine to buy coffee when his phone vibrates. Someone's calling so he picked it up.

"Hello Rhys. Are you at the hospital?" Said Doctor Lamasan on the other line.

"Yes Dr. Lamasan, I'm currently at the frontline right now." Rhys replied.

"There are some sudden changes sa schedule for tomorrow. There will be a short meeting at the faculty at 5:00 PM sharp."

"Yes Prof." He said and ended the call.

He rubbed his forehead thinking Kaori will gonna wait longer for him at the library.

He then dialed Kaori's number while inserting a money at the coffee machine.

Why is it so hard for her to answer my calls all the time? Rhys thought while he dialed Kaori's number again and still no answer. So he just texted her.

Rhys: I'll be a bit late today so wait for me a little longer.

Rhys exasperatedly shoved his phone inside the pocket of his lab coat and claimed his coffee.

A bunch of professors and doctors are already in the room when Rhys entered it. He also spotted Shoichi who is assisting Professor Sajorda.

When the Head of Medical Department arrived, they all settled down and sat on their respective seats. Rhys is sitting beside Dr. Lamasan, the Chief Medical Officer of Euphoria Hospital.

As the meeting began, Rhys took of his lab coat and hang it on the swivel chair. He approached Dr. Lamasan to assist and take notes.

In the middle of their meeting, Shoichi suddenly had a phone call... His eyes widened and abruptly rushed to Rhys.

"Senpai, tumawag si Gian." Sho eagerly stated.

"What is it?" Rhys furrowed his brows, waiting for Sho to answer.

"Kaori was rushed here in the hospital." Rhys froze and his heartbeat stopped for a moment when he heard what Sho just said.

He instantly dropped the folder his holding. "Dr. Lamasan, can I be excused?" He directly asked for permission, looking so worried and tensed.

"You're excused." As the Head Doctor replied, Rhys grabbed his belongings and left the faculty like a flash.

When he snatched his phone in the pocket of his white coat, he saw there's a bunch of missed calls and unread messages on his notification. He directly called back Gian.

"Where is she?" He automatically asked when Gian answered his call.

"Nandito kami ngayon sa ER. (Emergency Room) Bumaba ka na dito."

He abruptly hang up and rushed to the elevator.

He frustratedly raked his hands through his hair while waiting for the elevator to reach 4th floor.

"Fuck!" He cussed through his breath. He can't wait that much longer so he headed straight to the stairs and sprinted it from fourth floor to ground floor like a snap.
