Selena
Things have been chaotic in recent weeks. As I stood in the doorway of Josh's room my arms were wrapping around my body. I couldn't believe my first born had already flew the nest. Baby Josette Bieber was born not long after Josh moved out. Josh was such a natural with babies and he is the oldest so he saw baby after baby arrive in the house.
Looking at Josh's room that was still had his trophies on the wall along with his favorite football jerseys hung up, the stench of sweat still in the air from his intense work outs he would do every day.
"Hey you okay?" Justin's voice caused me to jump, wiping away the tears from my cheeks I nodded as I continued to stared at Josh's room. "He's not dead Selena." Justin calmly said and I nodded. "I know, I just never thought the day would ever come where we would be saying goodbye to our baby boy who is now a grown man with his own child." I nodded and Justin hand rested on my arm rubbing it softly. "Come on dinner is almost ready." He states and I nodded. "I'll be down in a few minutes."
Listening to Justin's footsteps down the hallway I had a silent cry to myself. Gathering my thoughts I nodded as I closed the door as I wiped my face again and strutted down the hall fixing my tight dress.
We had arranged a dinner with both our family and friends whilst the kids stayed with Josh for a couple of nights to see their new niece.
"What did Josh and Madison name the baby? Did they stick with the traditional J?" Carol asked and I smiled. "Yeah they called her Josette Marie, Jo for short." I smiled and everybody awed. Looking at my mom she was silent most of the dinner, we still have barely talked since Jade gave birth to Jason.
"Could I speak to you in private Selena?" She asked and I nodded slowly getting up off my chair and walking out to the backyard, I turned to face her with my arms crossed.
"I just want to apologize."
"It's about time mom, Jason is almost two months old and you've not once seen his precious little face but you've seen Jo." I spoke and she nodded. "You know how I felt about her having a baby at fifteen, she's too young to be a mom Selena."
"She's not too young mom, she's really grown up a lot since she had Jason. She and Kane took on the responsibility, they do not even depend on Justin and I to look after him. They are amazing parents to that little boy but you would never see that because all you saw was her age."
"I know and I'm sorry, I want to apologize to Jade and Kane."
"They're staying at Kane's parents for the weekend." I explained and she nodded.
"I know that's why I'll come over on Monday and speak to them myself."
"When Jade gets home from school you can." I smiled and she nodded. "I'm really happy for them, I just couldn't accept the fact my sixteen year old granddaughter was having a baby when she was just a baby herself."
"Mom, Justin got over his anger and he loves that little boy with all his heart."
"I know, I'm really sorry Sel it was foolish of me to act like that."
"It was, now let's get some food before it goes cold." I smiled as I hugged my mom, it felt really nice that she apologized and finally accepted Jade for having a baby.
Walking back into the dining room I sat back down next to Justin and he looked at me. "Everything finally okay between you two?"
"Yeah she apologized and we talked it out."
"Good." He smiled leaning over and kissing my cheek.
Digging into my food, Everybody was laughing and joking, enjoying the night away from kids and grandkids. "Selena how is Sophia settling in?" Carol asked drinking from her glass of red wine.
Nodding I swallowed my food before answering her question. "She's really coming out of her comfort zone, starting a new life and new school after loosing Evie was not easy but we got through it. She's amazing and we couldn't be more happy that she complete our family." I smiled at Carol who drank from her glass of red wine. Justin placed his hand over mine squeezing it softly.
"Dessert anyone?" I asked as I noticed plates started to look empty. "I'll help." Justin said as we walked around the table collecting the empty plates. Walking into the kitchen I have a heavy sigh and Justin places the plates into the sink and rubbed my shoulders for me. "This dinner is so stressful." I complained.
"It'll be over soon enough." Justin assured me.
"When everyone's gone and while the kids are not here what about you and me have some adult time tonight?" He whispered into my ear and a sneaky grin appeared on my face. Twirling around I bit my lip wrapping my arms around Justin's neck with his hands on my waist."I like the sound of that idea." I whispered planting a kiss on his lips.
"Let's give everyone there desserts so they can leave early." Justin whispered and I nodded as we rushed around the kitchen plating up the dessert.
