Chapter 32- Run before you can't
I felt all of the air rush out of my lungs and I took a shaky step back. Everything happened so fast. Ashered pushed me behind him, his hand holding my arm. Allaric was growling feriously, standing in front of Ashered. "Let the girl go." He snapped but Simone only laughed. And I watched as the room silenced as the sound of heels clicked across the shiny floor.
"Hello, Hope." A voice purred and I felt the urge to vomit as I saw Nova. Her dark braids flowed down her shoulder and she wore the white dress that Ashered had given me. I felt anger bubble in me. I subconciously made a move toward her but Ashered grabbed ahold of me tighter meeting my eyes with a sharp gaze and shook his head.
Fallon walked around the bar, his hands causually tucked into his pockets. "We have reinforcements on their way, Simone. You are outnumbered. Hand the girl over and maybe I will consider letting your death be quick." Simone laughed and Nova scoffed at his statement. She stepped forward and brushed her fingers across Gales chin. She tremebled her eyes widening.
I was horrified at the state that she was in. Almost as if to play with her they had dressed her in one of the horrendous dresses I did not wear. It was a light yellow and it brought out every bruise and cut that was on her tan skin. Her eyes met mine and she let out a sob.
"Hope. What's going on?" She whimpered. I took a step forward prying Ashered's hand off of me. "Its going to be okay, Gale-." I was cut off as Nova pulled a blade from the side of her dress and sliced open her lower arm, straight down. I paled realizing that she was bleeding out now, and fast. "What do you want?" I screamed to Simone, my heart beat speeding up even more now that my friend was bleeding out. I raised my hands exasperated. Simone grinned. "Ohh, love, I just love the torment I put you through. Don't you fret, we will be together soon." He winked. This time it was me holding Ashered back as I saw his back muscles twitch as he tired to move away from me. He could have easily torn away from my grip but he only tensed and stopped where he was.
Nova snorted. "Lap dog." She muttered. "Now, Hope you can come with me willingly or I can end your friends life." I looked at Gale and her terrified expression. "Please." She begged. Nova slapped her across the face and finally something snapped and Allaric was going for Nova. He jumped and in seconds his body morphed into a wolf that tore into the dark fallens arm.
She wailed in pain and I watched as Simone threw Gale to the side, her head knocking against the ground.
Ashered went straight for Simone, unholstering a dagger. I ran to Gale and lifted her head up. It was covered in blood. I frantically tried to stop the bleeding my hands painted red. A roar filled the air and I turned. Ashered and Simone's swords were clashing against each other and Nova had a blade raised in her bloody shaking arms ready to plummet into the wolf that had an aggressive hold on her legs. "Watch out." I cried springing up. I kicked off the heels. Allaric couldn't hear me over everything. I sprinted for Allaric and barely made out what Ashered yelled to me before I cataplated myself off of Allaric over to Nova. She cried out startled as we both rolled across the ground, her blade skidding across the ground. She scrambled for it enraged. She stood up angrily. I pulled myself up, the world slightly spinning before she was inches from me. I gasped and watched as Allarics wolf knocked her to the ground.
I stumbled back and screamed for Allaric as she dove her blade in repeately until he collapsed beside him. "Fallen have better healing and more endurance than some pewny wolf. She growled pushing the beast off her body.
I heard Gale groan and move and turned to find her awaking. I barely had time to register as Ashered called for me. "Hope, watch out." I looked back to Opal racing toward me. I took steps back quickly trying to figure out what to do. I dodged her first blow and looked to Ashered with fear in my eyes.
Before she could take another blow Fallon grabbed ahold of her and threw her into the ground. She cried out in agony and I took a step back but not before a blade plummeted into my back. I wheezed out a gag and another as they ripped it from me. I turned shocked and found Sian. He looked at me with an empty expression. Before I had anymore time to react, his neck was snapped. As he dropped down I was surprised to find the person who had killed him was Simone. He looked at me and caught me before I could fall over. "Now I did not see that coming." He said pressing his hand to my back.
I couldn't form words as I felt the warm blood rush down my back.
Fallon stood up and looked distastefully at Simone. " Let her go, Simone. " Simone stood up and smirked readjusting my body into a cradle hold. I hissed in pain.
Fallon took a determinded step forward but Simone tssked.
"Don't try anything or Hope here might bleed out and there won't be any of her left but a corpse."
"Well its a good thing that won't happen." A voice snapped and I felt myself falling into another pair of arms and Ashered's hands were wrapped around Simone's neck. "Don't kill him." Xavier said appearing in the doorway with hordes of reinforcements. Simone only laughed, a dark look on his face as he looked at me. "You think I didn't plan for this." He hissed and suddenly a burning sensation that felt like I was being stabbed shot through me and I tried to pry myself from Fallon's grip. He dropped to his knees where my skin felt like it was on fire, the distant sound of Simone laughing. I rolled over on the floor gasping. "The dress does look good on you." Simone sung out evilly. I clawed at the ground and watched as Simone head butted Ashered as he was distracted. I tried to rip the dress off but it felt like it was sewn into me. "Get it off." I cried hypervenitlating as I watched Simone and Ashered.
Ashered stumbled back clutching his face in anger and I didn't catch what happened next as I was rolled over to be met with Arman. " They escaped go after them. Get a doctor." There were shouts and Armans intricate eyes, swimming with color were all I could see before it all drowned out and turned numb and quieter.
