It was rather late by the time we returned to Kunlun Mountain and dragging our Shifu with us. It's so funny, because Shifu does not cope with alcohol as well as us Foxes, so he is not only swaying heavily against Cheng Bao and Die Feng who are the physically strongest of us all, but his tongue is loose and he's spilling secrets which has us all laughing. I know he is going to super regret this in the morning, but none of us stop him from sharing some seriously juicy gossip.
"That Heavenly Lord thinks he is so clever at creating riddles. Well let me tell you something!" Shifu slurs into Die Fengs face while trying his best to remain on his feet. "Those riddles were really created by my mother and all he did was readjust them a little." he splutters laughing and pointing at all of us. "And not only that, but I memorized every single one of them when I was younger, its the reason why I have never lost a Great Race until now." he roars with laughter which is making us all goggle and laugh at the same time.
I told you didn't I! Shifu is a big fat cheater! But he is also a merry drunk with even more to say!
"Die Feng....." Shifu leans in to whisper secretively into his face.... "Do you want to know a really big secret?" he asks as if forgetting that the rest of us all there with him and listening most attentively.
"Sure Shifu..." Die Feng smiles most agreeably and making us laugh more.
"That girl who attacked my precious little Xiaobai, is going to marry the Prince of the Mermaid Tribe." he says giggling madly as if he himself had arranged this most gobsmacking piece of gossip we have ever heard.
The mermaid tribe are a warfaring people. Viscious, violent and known to be unkind to their women, so this has come as quite a shock. No woman would ever willingly marry into the mermaids tribe, this much I do know, because they are not only of the darklands, but they are just too mean spirited.
I know I should feel some satisfaction for that girls plight, but I can't help but feel so sorry for her, because despite what she did to me, she is still of the light realms, a beautiful girl with a huge future ahead of herself, only I can't help but cringe at the knowledge that this is one more thing that she will blame me for.
And going by the way Shifus brows are bobbing up and down knowingly at Die Feng while pointing to himself, it is obvious that my Shifu has arranged this marriage as payback for what she did to me and not only that, but he is now telling Die Feng that he is also in the process of arranging a marriage for those other two girls to tribes just as undesireable and namely the Ghost Tribe.
Now guiding Shifu towards his chamber, I make my way to my own bed. I really am tired and I have a whole lot to think about including a demon boy that I met tonight, one that is nothing like those other boys. In fact, he is super smiley, a little shy but very nice and he even shared his wine with me throughout the night much to Fu Yus disgust.
I learned his name is Liwei and he is the only son of the Demon Overlord and two of the girls he was with are his older sisters who are also his minders. But I also learned, that like me, he has few friends outside of the Demon Land because so few are willing to return his smile. And that is the main reason why he wants to now be my friend, just because I smiled back at him.
Liwei also thinks that those girls are just nasty and I should not pay them any attention, though in his tribe, if they had acted like that, they would have been whipped. Gossip is not allowed and if one has something to say that might create a little dissension, then it is taken away from everyone else and discussed privately but openly so the air can be cleared. Only the way they acted, also made him want to meet me personally so he could decide for himself if their words were true or not.
