"Don't look at me... I didn't do it...." is all the words Shifu said when he looked back at that dead Goddess." Fu Yu says with a look of sheer wonder in his eyes as I quietly sink to the floor.
I feel so sick that I can't keep to my legs. Another wave of nausea has hit and this time I don't think I can keep it down, I'm feeling so light headed and weak that it takes Fu Yu some time to realize how unwell I am because he's now telling me how Mo Yuan not only stormed out of the Celestial Heavens in a blaze of fire having reached a new level of anger, but apparently, the entire Hall was left in an uproar which is where it apparently still is.
"Qian Qian.... are you alright?" he asks now leaning down over my bent head to look at me.
"I'm fine ...." I reply softly while taking deep breaths, and with my head almost between my knees, it is helping.
"I know its a shock. Even I can barely believe it, but Cheng Bao was there delivering the wedding flowers from the low valleys, so he heard what happened and of course being the biggest gossip here, he couldn't wait to tell everyone."
"And of course, you couldn't wait to tell me." I reply flatly now feeling a little better, or at least well enough to lift my head to look at him.
"Of course I have to tell you. Shifu is going to be your husband, it's just that a Goddess has died because of him, so I don't know what's going to happen now. You have to prepare yourself." he says most adamantly and looking at me as if I need to be getting ready for a battle or something, only I merely shake my head at him.
I really don't know what to think, but I know Cheng Bao. He might be a big gossip, but he isn't a liar so I know that what Fu Yu has just told me is the truth. Only I can't help but feel that it is divine justice. Mo Yuan has always been adamant that the Heavens fated me to him and him to me, and this is merely their way of stilling the gossip once and for all. I doubt anyone will dare say another word against me from now on, so the smile on my face is rising.
"Look Fu Yu. Mo Yuan is the War God and the son of Heaven, so his word is also theirs. If he gives an order, then so it shall be." I tell him most firmly before making my way outside. Having been cooped up all day in my chamber with the dresses and stressed out over those vile women, I have obviously stressed myself out to the point of feeling ill, so fresh air is what I am aiming for as I pass through the entrance with Fu Yu hot on my tail and looking confused.
"But Qian Qian, a woman died because Shifu threatened her life. Doesn't that mean he will face punishment?"
"And how is it his fault. Words can't kill Fu Yu." I reply with a soft chuckle seeing as I myself had gotten myself all worked up over words, and made myself ill in the process, so its kind of ironic when I think about it.
"He might not have literally killed her, but he ordered it."
"And Heaven replied." I say still chuckling quietly to myself. "And there isn't a man or woman alive who can take Heaven and place them on the punish rock, not when the man who actually killed her, is punishment personified." I laugh most heartily and stunning my poor little Sprite senseless.
"Heartless." he says in disgust. "A poor soul is dead and you think its funny. If anything Qian Qian, you should be upset because her death is marking the start of your marriage."
"No Fu Yu. Her death is marking the end of an era. The gossip about me started when I first arrived on this mountain and her death has put an end to it, thus making it a good luck marriage." I reply shaking my head at him.
If anyone should be understanding of why I am not upset, it should be him, after all he has been with me through it all. Only it seems as if the long years under Die Feng the goody two shoes has killed the fire in him, so if Im upset with anyone, it is the both of them. Well, not really, but still, I can't help but feel happy that Heaven has finally stepped in and made amendments to a plan that they themselves created and the moment I turn the corner and find Mo Yuan waiting patiently for me at the entrance, then I am not only smiling my brightest smile ever, but I feel great.
