"You will know when the time comes comes Xiaowu, I cannot tell you when it will happen, but being from the Nine Tailed Foxes, our Ascensions follow the same time line as those of our Ancestors.  All you have to do, is prepare yourself as best as you can, and pay attention to the lessons you are receiving from High God Mo Yuan, they will see you through it."

"But Si Ge, Shifu said I should have received my trial years ago, why isn't it here yet?"

"I can't answer that, though Mother seems to think it's because you are female.  I'm guessing that the girls take a little longer, after all, there are many changes your body will go through at the same time that we boys do not have to worry about, so try not to think too much about it.  In the end, it is fate that decides."

"Ohhh.... like the eggs Im now producing and these two lumps on my chest?" 

"hmmm......  Xiaowu, there will come a day when you will not only gain your ascension and fifth tail, but you will also be let lose on Kunlun Mountain as the only girl among boys.  And I know that between the two of us, you have the freedom to say as you please, however....."

"I know Si Ge.  I must be more responsible with what thoughts I voice openly."

"And that means talking about the physical changes in your body, or even the differences are not something you discuss with your new brothers.  And nor do you discuss them with High God Mo Yuan either."

"But what if I have a problem?"

"Then you send Fu Yu to fetch Zhe Yan or mother, whichever you feel is necessary, otherwise, things such as those lumps on your chest or any other physical changes you need assistance with, should be kept strictly to those who need to know."

"Alright I get it.  There's no need to worry Si Ge, I know not to discuss anything girl related with my brothers or Shifu, but I do wish my trial would hurry up, I should have joined them already."

"As I said, these things come when they are meant to, in the meantime, just relax and be patient........

It has been three days since my ascension trial, and I am now waking up fully from what Shifu has explained is a settling in period and much of it has passed me by without a single memory to fall back on, but as consciousness comes back, a long ago conversation continues to play in my mind.  The image seems hazy and his voice even more so, but the more I awaken to the familiar energy beside me, the more of an understanding I have of what happened and I can't help but feel relief and joy at the arrival of my ascension to High Immortal.

 I only have a vague recollection of falling into my beast form just seconds before Shifu picked me up and carried me back to what I am now learning is to be my new chamber.   Now sitting up and eating a bowl of medicine that Shifu is feeding me, my eyes continue to flicker about the room while Fu Yu, who is here with me, flitters and flutters in excitement.

"Qian Qian, we even have our own bathing chamber!" he squeals at me before once again disappearing to see what else he can find.

"Shifu, I can feed myself...." I tell him as another spoonful is held to my mouth.  

"I want to ensure that your throat is managing to swollow properly." he replies before another spoonful appears before my face.

So far he hasn't mentioned my trial so I guess he is just waiting until I have finished the medicine before he hits with an overload of information, which is usually his way.  Shifu is the kind of person who will lead into any long and involved discussion, with something silent and natural in order to keep me calm, but what he doesn't realize, is he is now so predictable that I'm already on edge for what might be coming, because the more of my chamber I am seeing, the more of my things I can see.  Things that have obviously been moved here along with my little Sprite who is super happy with what he is seeing.
